An improbably long earthquake had struck Snezhnaya, and beyond that, all of Teyvat. The Tsaritsa was still sitting on her throne, using her Cryo power to strengthen her palace so it wouldn't collapse from the tremors.
When the natural disaster—not so natural—stopped as quickly as it had arrived, the Archon sensed the divine origin of this phenomenon. She immediately sent her various henchmen to inquire about the situation in her entire country so that she could take the appropriate measures. However, while she was giving an order to a group of her command, a final isolated tremor, quite different from those that had taken place earlier, occurred. And this time, the ruler knew exactly what had happened without even needing to confirm it: the link between the underworlds—that is the Abyss and Khaenri'ah—and Teyvat had been severed. This meant that all connections between Teyvat and the Abyss, where the enemies threatening the continent came from, were definitively cut off.
Immediately afterwards, one of her scouts rushed into the throne room, completely out of breath.
"Your Majesty!"
"What's the matter?"
"The enemies have all disappeared without a trace!"
She had just received confirmation that the link between the Abyss and Teyvat, which had been created by the gods of Celestia in order to lead the continent to its doom, had just broken. In other words, the goddess who had used this process had been struck down. One of the reasons the Tsaritsa was fighting had just disappeared.
"Without exception?" she asked.
"Only a few isolated individuals remained. And then..."
The guard hesitated for a moment, clearly not knowing how to announce what he had found.
"Speak," his queen enjoined him without further ado.
"Well, we found Sir Tartaglia— my apologies, the traitor, alone, near a cliff. He seems to be delirious."
"And what about the Traveler?"
"No trace of the Traveler, he was alone. Should we execute him?"
"No," she answered curtly. "Bring him before me."
"Roger."
The guard bowed and then immediately turned on his heels to bring the former Eleventh Harbinger before the one who had given him his title.
A few moments later, the doors of the room opened again, revealing the figure of Childe supported by two other of her men. He was deeply wounded in many places, so exhausted and drained that he could no longer stand on his feet. But above all, what shocked the sovereign was the empty, suffering and desperate look of the man in front of her. When the henchmen let go of him and stepped aside, he fell miserably to the ground, merely rocking back and forth slightly as a madman would.
