chapter 3

It has been a week since Y/n began his "tests" on Dex.  He got the results that he wanted. 

He was ready to present the results to Salem.  

He went into the throne room.   Salem was sitting on her throne.  Cinder was there as well

Salem: You return Y/n. And from the look on you're face. You've had success. 

Y/n: Did you expect anything else?

Cinder: I've waited a week for this. I want to see it as well.  

Y/n  whistled  and Dex came through a door in some black armor. She walked next to Y/n and kneeled. Salem began to clap slowly.

Salem: Well done Y/n. It seems that you did make her obedient. 

Y/n: It wasn't so hard. Just took a bit of effort.  

Salem: I trust that she can still think on her own accord?

Y/n: Of course. That would be very inconvenient if she couldn't.  I don't need a mindless zombie. 

Salem: Just checking.  I suppose that means I will no longer stonewall you there.  You have proven you're success, I wait for you to show more results. 

Y/n nodded. 

Y/n: Dex. Would you mind stepping out?

Dex nodded and left. 

Salem: Speaking of results. I have a new task for you.

Y/n: What is it?

Salem: Cinder informed me of a big shipment of dust Roman is getting with the white fang. I want you to assist in this endeavor. 

Cinder: That's unnecessary.

Salem: I want that dust. 

Cinder: Very well. 

Y/n drives to the site that night.   He approaches Roman.

Roman: Fancy seeing you here Y/n.

Y/n: Salem herself wanted to see this dust in her possession. 

Roman: Very well. We'll be done here before you know it.  

Y/n: I'll hold you to that one.

Y/n leaned against a container and watched. But this wouldn't go as smoothly as planned.   

Blake and Sun showed up. Y/n let out a sigh. 

Y/n pulled out his radio.

Y/n: I need cargo helicopters with magnets attached. We need to get some shipping containers out of here.  And bring Dex,I'm starting to believe I need her assistance. 

Y/n shot at Blake. The shock round hit her.

Y/n: Good thing I kept shock rounds miss Belladonna.  I do need you alive.

Blake: You know me?

Y/n: Not on a personal level. Adam Taurus wants you alive. And I make good on my business deals.

Blake charged for Y/n who dodged her strike and pistol whipped her into the ground.  She rolled and went for a slash which was dodged again. 

The fight went on until Sun ambushed him and knocked him down to the ground. He put his foot on Y/n's head.

Sun: It's over.

Y/n heard the sound of helicopters.

Y/n: Actually, I don't think so.

Sun dodged an axe coming his direction. Dex stood next to Y/n who got up.

Y/n: I should have brought you from the beginning.  Deal with them, but keep the kitty alive. I don't care about the monkey.

Dex: Yes master.

Dex charged for them both.   She switched her axe to tommy gun mode.   She stopped and sweeped the area with bullets.

Blake and Sun took cover to avoid being hit and are now split up. 

Ruby appeared and Penny as well.

White fang reinforcements flew in only to be taken down by Penny.

Ruby used her semblance and rushed at Dex who couldn't shoot her.

Dex rolled away from her attack and switched back to axe form to fight Ruby.

The cargo helicopters took the crates they could and flew away. A smaller helicopter landed near Y/n. 

Y/n quickly shot Penny. She fell over stunned.

Y/n: Dex! With me!

Dex broke off from the fight and rushed over ot the helicopter, getting in it with Y/n.

Y/n: Good work Dex. You still are just as good in combat.

Dex: Thank you master. 

Y/n: A pity I couldn't get the kitty. It would have been nice to have that chip on the table.

Dex: Maybe next time master.

Y/n: Maybe. But for now I have to see what mistress Salem thinks of this failure. 

Y/n reporters to Salem. Salem let out a sigh and rubbed her forehead.

Salem: The most I can take from this situation is at least you got a good portion of the shipments.  And I do suppose without you're men. None of them would have been recovered. 

Y/n: Thank you mistress. I have the shipments with the other dust. 

Salem: Something bothers you Y/n.

Y/n: Forgive me. I lost my element of surprise sooner than I hoped.   I must find a new element of surprise.

Salem: Then I'll leave you to it. 

Y/n left, Cinder met him in the hall.

Cinder: I suppose I should thank you for pulling my ass out of the fire.

Y/n: I was right there in the fire with you. I can't help you gripped onto me as I climbed out of the fire. So no need to thank me.

Cinder: You should learn to take thank yous.

Y/n: I'll take one when I deserve one.

Y/n walked away, Cinder scoffed.
