"The number you dialled is currently busy, please try again later"

That was the response I was getting all morning when I tried calling Kim Hara-ssi. I'm not sure if she was really offended by my actions and deliberately ignoring me but either way it's making me anxious. I let down my phone and returned back to my work. I've called her about 4 times since morning but still had the same response. I figured I would let it go for now and just find her after hours. With that I returned back to my work.

"Dong Chan-ah", I called out, keeping my view towards my computer screen instead. I heard a small groan from his direction before I heard him walk over. When he was standing near by desk, I looked up and smiled. Dong Chan smiled back. "What have I said about adding your personal interest projects to the list of investment evaluation?", I pointed to the project that clearly has no set value but a high mission.

"Ayyy Han Directornim... but the project is so heartwarming", He tries to convince me with that sweet smile of his.

"Hmmm tell me that your heart is warm after you invest and don't get your money back", I replied with a sweet smile of my own. He sighed and went back to change his list and I returned back to my work. Honestly I don't know how he became team head yet I can't exactly imagine work without his antics.

I kept that smile on my face for the whole day but couldn't help to notice that I kept looking over to my phone every other minute.

It was already clock out time but I still haven't heard from Kim Hara-ssi. I messaged her in the middle of the day asking her if she has time to talk but I don't think she even saw my message. I saw that everybody was going off work already but I stayed back for a while and just watched my phone hoping that I didn't offend a person today.

My thoughts trailed back to that time when Yong San-ssi accused me of murdering his elder brother. I sort of realised how much weight words can carry after that day. However, before drowning in those thoughts I shook my head and decided that I would just leave a voice message. Something is better than nothing right?

I heard the phone ring and just when I thought she picked up, the phone went straight to voicemail. I calmed my nerves and tried to let out that apology I've been meaning to say but it didn't seem to be going well.

"Umm... I... Yeobusayo Kim Hara-ssi? Err....", I let out a sigh at my hesitance and continued with the little amount of confidence I managed to sniff up. "Kim Hara-ssi, I'm sorry about last night. I should have never gotten that drunk at the office, but thank you for dropping me off my place and giving my belongings to Do San-ssi. I'm sure it must've been a hinderance, I'm really sorry for that", I finally said. I hesitated to drop the call though since there was something I wanted to ask her about last night, but I didn't know whether I was dreaming or not so after a long pause I just said something that would convey my sincerity before I hung off, "Thank you, for taking care of me."

After I the voicemail, I went back home using my car this time. I dropped my belongings on the sofa and went to the kitchen to get something to eat. It was a surprise when I saw a sticky note inside the freezer because who in their right minds would leave a sticky note inside instead of outside? I was confused when I took it out but proceeded to read the contents.

'Hey coffee-nim, I'm telling you this cause I don't have the time to go buy groceries for your sorry excuse of a refrigerator but why don't you have any ice cream? That's criminal!'

I couldn't help the chuckle that came out as I finished reading the content of the letter. Only after I finished reading did I realise that she rummaged through my kitchen. Just how long did she stay last night?, I mentally thought. I then remembered the sticky note on the coffee table in the morning. I forgot to read it since I was just too mortified at myself and just took the painkillers instead. I quickly went over to the coffee table in my living room space and picked up the yellow note.

'Hey coffee-nim, I figured you'd have a hangover so I went through your first aid kid for the painkillers. Sorry. Also went through your kitchen to prepare for some breakfast as an apology for overstaying, but it was empty (i have opinions on that). Since I don't know your padlock i'm going to send your belongings to Do San. I'm quite busy tomorrow that's why i had to write this. Hope you feel better during the day :)'

My first thought was that she managed to fit a whole lot into a small note. My second thought was that I probably should've checked this note in the morning so I wouldn't have to be so anxious. No wonder Do San-ssi was confused. I let out a sigh and dropped down to my couch holding my head which was starting to pound.

This whole situation is a bit overwhelming and embarrassing honestly but in the end I'm thankful she didn't seem to mention anything to Do San-ssi. With that I picked up my phone to call her one more time hoping she wasn't busy right now. The call was ringing, when I was just about convinced that she was still busy and about to hang up, I heard her voice from the other side.

Voices. Instead of just her voice I heard a lot of white noise behind her which closely felt like a conversation. For a minute I thought I disturbed her while she was busy or in a meeting but her voice stopped me from thinking about it.

"Yeobusayo? Han Directornim?", She called out. I tried to let out my voice but realised that nothing was coming out. I really didn't expect her to pick up though. When I gave no reply, I heard silence from the other side and more shuffling. "Coffee-nim if you called so many times today you should be saying something you know.."she stated in a eerily teasing tone. I could imagine her amused face right now.

"Oh Ne, Kim Hara-ssi, sorry I didn't expect you to pick up", I rushed to reply her that I didn't think twice about what I was actually saying. I bit my lip and cringed a little when I processed what I said. Before I had the opportunity to rephrase my word I heard her stifling a laugh.

"Sorry I was busy today", she replied, still keeping that teasing tone of hers. This was it, I had to ask her about yesterday before she gets busy again. However, before I even asked I heard someone from the background call out to her and she was answering them back. "Listen coffee-nim, I'm actually heading back to Silicon Valley today so I was busy the whole day. I just heard your voice message a minute ago and I thought I needed to clarify. Actually I should be the one apologising since I interrupted your personal time last night, hopefully everything was all right in the morning, I had to drop off some files to Do San so I thought having him hand over your stuff was also right.... AND sorry for going through your kitchen I already explained it on my sticky note, I hope you read it", she rushed out quickly.

Wait. She was going back? It slipped my mind that she had to go back. Wow it was already 2 weeks?

"Oh I... no it's okay. Just thank you for getting me back home, I'm sure it wasn't easy", I replied back. I didn't want to be rude and say that I forgot she was leaving. Then the people at the back must've been Do San-ssi and the boys.

"Trust me coffee-nim, I have never been more entertained in my life, so it's fine", she let out. I groaned out loud and I heard laughter from the other side of the call. I'm glad she isn't upset though, if it was anyone else they might've been pretty upset. Her laughter stopped suddenly when I heard distance voices calling out to her. ".. hey coffee-nim, I have to go my flight is about to start boarding...", she said in a distracted manner, i believe she was shifting around.

"Right. Thanks for everything! Have a nice flight.", I said shortly as she didn't have time.

"Bye ballerina, see you whenever", she finally said before hanging up the call leaving me mortified.
