"Girlfriend? Who?", Dal Mi-ssi asked so naturally, my thought process went from 'its a misunderstanding!' to 'she almost looks relieved' to 'were my feelings a burden?'.
That night I just laughed it off and thankfully halmoni changed the topic as well. Its not exactly ideal to discuss a nonexistent crush to your ex crush.
After that night I've sort of low key avoided Dal Mi-ssi for a while with the exception of work. Its been a month since this happened and even Do San noticed my actions. I'm sure Dal Mi-ssi also noticed but never commented on it, if anything I felt as if she's giving me the space that I need.
This whole month honestly, the thought that I was burdening her with my feelings have been riding on the back of my mind. Trying to settle my feelings as soon as possible doesn't seem to be working out. The phrase 'out of sight, out of mind' proved to be 20% working.
Funnily enough she wasn't the only woman on my mind since then.
Kim Hara.
I'd be lying if I said she wasn't on my mind at all. Every time my thought wonder in that direction, I remember all her clumsy actions. Her drunk mumbling, her spontaneous actions, how easily she changes her mind. It was amusing indeed. If anything I think I made a good friend.
"Directornim!" A voice called out. I turned around on my seat to face the source who was our Dong Sik. I raised an eyebrow in question. "Are you okay?" He asked me looking concerned.
Confusion washed over me and I replied with, "What?".
"I called you over 5 times but you seemed dazed. Is something the matter?"
"You worry about everything, nothings wrong. Why?" I replied trying to skip over the topic.
"Haish its because you've been like this too often nowadays, normally you daze off a few times over 3 months but now its almost every week I-",
"Dong Sik-ah", I interruptted looking at him with a straight smile.
"Ne?"
"Shut up"
"Ne"
I sighed and asked what was the matter he originally came here for.
"The 13th sandbox program is start in soon and Yoon Taepyonim asked if you could mentor again this year" he relayed moving back and forth on his toes. I raised an eyebrow at his movements but said nothing.
"I don't want to. You do it.", I said nonchalant my waving him back to his seat.
"Again?" He asked with much desperation. When I looked towards him, he had a such a devestated face I almost felt sadistic.
"Mmhmmm again", I smiled genuinly. He seems to be slowly accepting this decision as he started to question me.
"You won't try and get in the middle again like last year right? I still haven't recovered!!!", why is his sad expression so amusing to me? I should give him a bonus after this.
"Don't worry I won't. Go back to your work", I dismissed him and concentrated on my work again.
I don't feel like doing that mentorship program again. I think I had enough after last year. With that I returned back to work mode. However I was lowkey curious about the new program and if there were any astounding characters this year around.

"Han Director" a voice called out while I was in the lobby, on the way back home. I turned around to find Yoon Taepyonim quick walking towards me, so I waited for her to reach me.
Once she reached I gave her a courteous smile, "aigoo you could've walked slowly, is it something important?". She shook her head and laughed a little before gesturing we both walk towards the elevator.
"I heard you are going to let Dong Sik mentor the upcoming program?" I rxoected this question but I just replied with a 'yes' amd didnt expand. Though it didnt seem to convice her yet. "After last year you got popular for mentoring a company bought by a global branch, do you really not going to mentor this year?", she asked as we got on the elevator.
"I'm scared my popularity will grow if I mentor again this year", I joked. Yoon Taepyonim laughed and left that topic alone and started talking about the upcoming mentors in the program.
"This year we have a a variety of mentors I'm sort of excited how it would go", I questioned on what type of mentors were coming to fill in small talk. "Hahaha you'll be surprised. There's Daeil group, morning AI also wanted a position, 2STO is also coming this year, and 2 mentors from the last batch also applied".
2STO is coming again?
"I was also surprised", she spoke. It took me a minture to understand that I spoke out loud. Instead of mentally slapping myself, I continued to pry.
"I thought last time they came for Do San's team, I didnt expect them to come again hahaha". Yoon Taepyonim nodded in agreement.
"Yeah Alex said he was sending over a representative since he thinks the sandbox program seemed to be showcasing real life talent", she answered. I nodded my head and went in a daze again.
I wonder who's the representative? I doubt its Kim Hara-ssi since she aldy came and went, making 2 trips doesn't seem efficient, plus she's a director in that company too.
"I thought you were going ask about Morning AI as well but it doesn't seem to be the case?", she said as we got off the elevator into the basement.
"Ah.." I didn't have an excuse and while trying to come up with one, she stopped my thoughts.
"Haahhaha its okay, I am considering Morning AI since they donated a huge amount to the program and are striving with their new tech this time. Though the previous sandal is still fresh and making me doubtful, so its still on discussion" she answered. Since I didnt have anything to say with that I just nodded and assured her that she would make the right decision.
With this we said our goodbyes. Once I got in my car my mind started running again and the one thing that stood out was.
What was I even expecting? That Kim Hara-ssi would come back? Why?

I do feel a little pressured but I do understand a readers feelings,,, I just didnt know my story was that nice for ya'll to ask me to update every week ಥ⌣ಥ
