YEAR III: CHAPTER 4 (Part 2)

Hagrid let out a big cough to gather our attention. We all looked at him, and our eyes widened with fear. "Tad dada dada!" 

We all slowly took steps back. I grabbed onto one of Harry's robes as a reflex. I looked at him and whispered "Sorry," 

In front of us was a big bird or something with the tail of a lion and beautiful but scary eyes. I glance at Draco and saw that he was kind of disgusted or something. I just rolled my eyes and looked over at Hagrid again. 

"Isn't he beautiful?" He said as he threw a fish at it. "Say hello to Buckbeak."

"Hagrid, exactly what is that?" Ron asks.

 I scanned it again and it seemed familiar to me. I may have read something about it in the library with Hermione. 

"That, Ron, is a Hippogriff," Hagrid answers. "First thing you wanna know about hippogriffs is that they're very proud creatures. Very easily offended. You do not want to insult a Hippogriff" Hagrid warns. "It may just be the last thing you ever do." 

I think it looks very friendly. 

"Now, come and say hello!" Hagrid smiles, looking at Buckbeak. 

I stare and thought about it first if I wanted to. It sort of looked friendly.

"Well done, Harry and Y/n. Well done!" Hagrid delightfully says. Harry and I looked back and realized everyone took a step back. Why does it always have to be me?! 

Ron pushed us both forward. I followed Harry's lead since he seemed a bit nervous. 

"Now, You have to let him make the first move. It's only polite. So...step up. Give him a nice bow. Then you wait and see if he bows back. If he does, you can go and touch him. If not... Well, we'll get to that later." 

The both of us slowly walked towards it while we listen to Hagrid. 

"Make your bow," Hagrid instructed. 

We stopped at a very safe distance... I think. 

We both bowed at it. 

"Nice and low," Hagrid said. 

I look at the Hippogriff at full alarm as it looked back at us. It flapped its wings and started squawking. 

"Back off both of you. Back off" He says in a not so promising tone. We both back off and gulped at the same time. I clench my fists even tighter when I hear a snap. It was just a stick, Y/n. 

 "Keep still," I slowly looked at it trying not to look anywhere else or it might insult it. "Keep still" He repeats. 

How can I keep still when I'm hardly even breathing?! We look at it for a while then it slowly bowed down to both of us. 

I sigh in relief. 

Hagrid chuckles, "Well done, Harry and Y/n. Well done," 

Harry and I looked at each other with a look of I'm glad we aren't dead yet and smiled in triumph. Like we just won a lottery ticket or something. 

We both smile that it was finally over then it turned into a terrified look when Hagrid said that we can touch it now. 

We both looked at him like he was mad. 

"Go on. Don't be shy," We both take deep breaths as we started to walk towards it again with no distance AT ALL. "Nice and slow, now." We slowly held up both of our hands and tried to reach slowly. "Nice and slow, now." I felt like my whole life has led up to this at some point which was silly, how the bloody hell can I back down now?!

"Not so fast, Harry and Y/n," He instructed. 

Buckbeak gave us an impression of wanting to bite us. I hear Hermione gasp once again. I clench my fist even tighter. We both walked towards it. Hagrid said that we wait for it to come to us. So, we kept on walking slowly as it walked up to us closing our distance. 

It hesitated at first and then finally let us touch it. I let out a breath and smiled. Finally, now it's over! 

"Well done, Harry and Y/n. Well done!!" Hagrid claps and everyone clapped as well. 

Harry and I smiled at each other and kept on touching Buckbeak. 

Hagrid walked up to us smiling, "I think it may let both of you ride him now," 

My eyes widen and looked at Hagrid. "What?" Harry and I say in unison. 

"Are you mad? Hagrid!" I say as Hagrid picks me up and puts me on Buckbeak. 

"Hey! Hey! Hey! Hagrid!" Harry yells as he got picked up by Hagrid and puts him on Buckbeak as well. Buckbeak squawked a bit. 

"Don't pull out any of his feathers, because he won't thank you for that!" He warns as he slaps Buckbeak as a sign to fly. 

Oh great, you're worried about plucking its feathers rather than our lives. "Just great!" I yell as it flew. Harry held onto me tightly covering me a bit as I held onto Buckbeak gently. 

We hover over the forest before flying up to the towers of Hogwarts and over the roof. I admire the scenery in awe. It was really beautiful up here. I felt the breeze of fresh air hit my face. We suddenly went down slowly and hover over the Black lake. I smiled widely at the feeling closing my eyes and opening them admiring the beauty of Hogwarts which I didn't notice that much. We slowly spread our hands and took deep breaths as the wind blows feeling the moment. I close my eyes as Harry yells. "Woohoo!" I copied him and both looked at each other and chuckled. I wish I could always feel like this. The both of us looked down at Hagrid and our classmates. We hear Hagrid's whistle and the Hippogriff hovers around the trees as it lands down gracefully to the ground. 

"Well done, Harry and Y/n!" We hear our classmates yell as they look at us land. They all praised us and Buckbeak as they clapped. 

"That was wicked Harry!" One of them yells. We both get down with the help of Hagrid. 

"That wasn't that bad now was it?" I say smiling not forgetting the feeling. Harry nods still at the moment. We both smile at each other. 

"How am I doing on me first day?" Hagrid whispers to us.

"Brilliant," Harry and I say in unison. 

"Yeah, you're not dangerous at all, are you, you great ugly brute!" Draco says, we looked at him as he walked up to Buckbeak confidently. 

My eyes widen as Buckbeak suddenly squawks and spreads his wings. 

"Malfoy, no" Hagrid yells.

 "Draco, No!" I yell as well but he ignored it. 

He then got slashed by its claws and fell to the ground. Everyone panicked and ran for cover. 

I ran up to him as Hagrid distracted Buckbeak. He yelled "It's killed me! It's killed me!" 

Let's just say it did not end very well after that.
