Army's foot tapped against the concrete ground, occasionally he switched his gaze over to his watch, to his phone, to the Square's entrance. But no matter how much he looked, he never saw the squid he was waiting for. You weren't coming even though you said you'd make time today. Why did you lie?
"This is a waste of time," Army sighed.
He turned to leave but then he spotted one of your teammates, Coco. He didn't want to give up on your word just yet so he hurried over to her. Army, rather rudely, stepped in front of Coco, scaring her to death.
"My apologies, I didn't mean to scare you," Army apologized.
"O-Oh, A-Army-kun..." Coco sighed in relief.
Coco composed herself and took a deep breath before continuing their conversation.
"What do you need?"
"I was wondering, do you know where (y/n) is?" Army asked, a tad concerned, "She hasn't texted me all day."
Coco had a hint of sadness in her eyes when he asked for you. Army found that a bit odd, did something happen to you?
"O-Oh, well..." Coco fiddled with her thumbs, "Y-You see, (y/n) is sick..."
"Sick?" Army repeated, "Oh dear, that's terrible. I shall go see her at once."
Army bowed in respect to Coco.
"Thank you, Coco. Good luck on your match today."
"No problem, Army-kun and thank you. Please, take care of (y/n) for me, okay?"
Army bid Coco a farewell and ran off to the Square's exit.

You were in your apartment, sleeping quietly in your bed. Since you were sick you couldn't join your teammates in squad battles today. You even planned to hang out with Army too, now he probably thinks you're a liar. He hates wasting time and now that you've abandoned him after you said you'd make time, he probably hates you too. The thought of him hating you made your heartache in pain. I hope he doesn't hate me...You say to yourself as you snuggle deeper into your blanket. Suddenly, there's a knock on your door.
"Who could that be...?" You mumbled.
You stumbled over to the front door and opened the door. The bright sunlight hit your eyes, causing you to squeeze them shut on instinct.
"Oh, my apologies, let me block the sun for you," A gentle voice offered.
The light darkened and you slowly opened your eyes back up. A light (e/c) blush spread across your face when you saw Army's face. You always thought he looked handsome, but now that you're even closer to him he's...
"(y/n), are you okay? I heard you were sick," Army showed concern for your well-being.
"Yeah, I'm sick," You replied flusteredly, "Sorry I couldn't tell you, I just felt so tired and..."
Army raised a hand to stop me where I was.
"Don't worry, I am not upset though I would've greatly appreciated it if you called."
You realized then that you were being rude by not letting him in your house so stepped aside to leave space for him to enter. After he did, you closed the door and made your way to the couch. It's the closest thing to your bed and you wanted to go to sleep already. Army put the back of his palm against your forehead, making you blush ten shades (f/c). Oh gosh, he's so close! You fangirled in your mind.
"Hm, your fever seems to be getting worse," Army deduced, "Tell me, have you had anything to eat today?"
Now that you look back on your morning, the only thing you ate was a pop tart and a cup of coffee. But nothing else after that.
"Only a pop tart," You replied.
"I see..."
He leans away from you and forges that same old confident grin he always has. Not just in turf wars either.
"Then I'll make you some curry! Warm food always helps with illness."
You try to protest against his idea but it was too late. Army was already heading to the kitchen to prepare the curry. You went back into your room to get your blanket. You figured that since you'll both be in the living room, might as well make that your new sleeping place.
After Army cooked his famous curry, you both ate in silence as you watched the newest squad battles. You just barely managed to see your teammates in action, their match was super close. But unfortunately, the opposite team won over yours. You couldn't help but be enraged, despite the tri squad being allowed a faster respawn, it's still 3v4 which isn't fair. Curse the damn flu for making you sick! Army chuckled at your little temper tantrum over the match, he found it adorable.
"You're so cute, (y/n)," Army poked your cheek, "You haven't changed a bit since we were kids."
You blushed at the compliment.
"I'm not cute, I'm a squid."
You pouted and looked away, causing him to burst out laughing.
"S-Shut up!" You demanded.
"Sorry dear but I just can't help it, you're so cute!"
"Jerk."
Army put an arm around your shoulder and pulled you into him, making you blush even more. You wanted to push him, ask him what he thinks he's doing but he was so warm. Not even your heater makes your body warm like this. You couldn't help but scoot closer to him.
"Hey, (y/n)?"
You hummed in response as your eyes began to close.
"I've been meaning to tell you this for a while now, but..."
Army looked down to see you sleeping, the sight melted his heart. To think the two of you would be so close like this, made his heart race. Army desperately wanted to tell you how he felt but he can't disturb your slumber. Besides, as a sick squid, you need to rest more than anybody. So, he left you as you were.
"Never mind, I'll tell you another time."
Army took your blanket and placed it around the both of you. He gave you a quick kiss on the head before laying his own on top of yours. The two of you slept calmly together for who knows how long.
