Phillip's POV:Phillip saw an opportunity to take you upstairs and he did. He thought it would be a good idea to get you alone away from everyone else downstairs to spend time with you one on one. He didn't think that you would be the one to initiate any form of physical interaction with him. Of course, he liked sex, he enjoyed it. He usually hits it then quits it, but with you, he wanted to take his time, he didn't want to rush into having sex with you because he genuinely likes you and he thought you deserved more than that. At that moment, he wanted to make you feel good because he knew there would be a chance when you would make him feel just as good. Phillip knew that this was not going to be a one time thing.

After you and Phillip made it back downstairs it was fair to say there were weird stares directed towards the both of you. You had kept your head slightly down and made your way back into the kitchen doing the walk of shame. You thought it would be best to go back home to make things less awkward.
"I - um, I should get going, I have work tomorrow." You turned to Phillip
"Yeah, no no go ahead you don't have to stay. Do you wanna take some food home?" He said reaching for the tupperware.
"Yeah sure. Thanks." You smiled at him.
"Is a little bit of everything ok? Want some dessert?" He asked you.
'Yes and yes." You lightly giggled. "Looks like I have lunch for the next two days."
"Not to be nosy or anything but what is it that you do?"
"I work at a bookstore. Not exactly where I pictured I would be, but it pays well and the store is sorta like a second home. I enjoy working there." You fiddled with the ring on your finger. Your face furrowed at the sight of the ring. It was a promise ring Matt had gave you for your two year anniversary.
"What's with the face? I mean from what you're saying it doesn't seem all too bad. Right?" He inquired leaning over the countertop.
"Yeah, no no its uh its not that. I just-" You said removing the ring and tossing it out in the trash. "This isn't worth much to me any more."
Phillip looked at you as if you were crazy.
"I forgot to get rid of it... my ex had given it to me awhile back." You mentioned reaching over the counter for the food he had packed you. "Yeah so...I should get going."
He walked around the counter and placed a hand on your shoulder. "I'll walk you."
You slightly rolled your eyes at him. "I think I can manage walking a couple of feet Altman."
"Y/n, what kind of man would I be to let a lady walk home all alone." He said dramatically giving you his signature smirk.
The walk home was very short due to the fact it was only a couple of houses down from the Altman's, no words were exchanged throughout but it felt nice to have Phillip by your side. You didn't know what to talk to Phillip about, and he didn't know what to talk to you about either. His presence was just enough for you as it was for him. What had happened earlier was something you wanted to happen again but could you allow it? Not talking about it meant that you both would forget it ever happened or so you thought.
"So I had fun today." Phillip says with a wink.
"Thanks." You said with sarcasm.
"I wasn't talking about that but yeah I guess that was fun too." He laughed.
"OH MY GOD PHILLIP." You playfully pushed him.
He took a seat down on your steps. "No but seriously I've been having a good time with you lately, it may not mean much."
"And why wouldn't it mean much?" You asked.
"Y/n, we both know how you feel about me. You don't think very highly of me."
You sat down next to him, taking in a deep breath. "Well, maybe that's changed. We aren't the same people we used to be, are we? You aren't so bad I guess. You're a good guy Phillip, Im sorry if I thought otherwise."
Although you were slowly being swayed by Phillip, you knew you would have to keep your guard up, not that it was entirely personal but he did have a track record and the last thing you need is to completely fall at his feet and get hurt. Not that you would ever let it get that far.
He gave you a slight smile and hummed to himself. "Well, Im glad someone thinks that."
You felt bad at his response. You knew you weren't the only one who might've looked at Phillip as a shit person, but you didn't think it affected him as much. He's always so chill about things, and came off as someone who didn't care about what anyone else thought about him, but you should've known better. At the end of the day we're all human and there's always going to be that voice in your head nitpicking what other's may think about you, or if you're as good or a bad person people make you out to be.
"What do you mean?" You met his eyes.
"Maybe that's a story for another time gorgeous. What's the story with your ex boyfriend?"
"Not that it's any of your business but maybe that's a story for another time." You exhaled standing up. You started walking up to your door and turned back to look at him. "For what it's worth, I had fun today too and Im not just talking about... well you know. Thanks for walking me home Altman." He gave you a shy smile and nodded.
You walked into an empty house, your mother was still at the shiva oblivious to the fact that you had disappeared with Phillip for a bit and Mikey was off doing God knows what, who knows where. You walked into the kitchen putting away the leftovers Phillip had so neatly packed for you, and reached for a bottle of wine out of the cabinet and brought it up to the room with you.
-
All you could think about while sitting up on your headboard, sipping at your wine was what would you write about. You've been staring at your laptop thats been laying on your desk, wondering if you'd have the courage to start a new project. It was hard to get inspired after not writing for a long time. You didn't know where to start, what to do, how to approach it. How would you reinvent yourself as an author. You knew you had a passion for this, at some point in your life writing consumed you.
Over the years you've been writing, you'd often wished you could step back and view your pieces as a complete work the way a painter would. To be able to assess what's missing, where there needs to be more color, where there is too much. Instead, as a writer you had to go through, sentence by sentence, page by page, chapter by chapter, and it was exhausting but it was always worth it. Just like any artist this was your form of expressing yourself and your creativity, you just needed that extra push to get started again. As for right now it was time to do your nightly routine and head to bed for a long shift at work tomorrow.
Just as you were about to snooze off, you got a text message. As soon as you read the message you knew exactly who it was.
PHILLIP
"What did the lightbulb say to the switch?"
YOU
"Seriously Phillip!! How did u even get my number?"
PHILLIP
"I have my ways little one. Now answer my question."
YOU
"Little one? & umm idk??"
PHILLIP
"Yeah you're shorter than me so you're little one, also you're no fun."
YOU
"Well Im sorry Im not built like a TREE! And i beg to differ, you stated otherwise earlier. What did the lightbulb say?"
PHILLIP
"You turn me on. OH that was a good one you cant even lie."
YOU
"Goodnight Phillip🙄"
