Today is your first day back at work
after not attending for a couple of days. Dean, your co-worker, is such an angel for covering your shifts. You had Mikey stop at the bakery you visited last time to get some goodies for everyone at work. You went inside and it was exactly like how it was the last time you had visited, it had smelled and looked like what you'd assume heaven is. The bakery was fairly empty for a morning. You rang the bell at the cash register to alert someone that you were there. The older gentleman came out from the back blurting out something in Italian.

"Mi chievedo quando ti saresti fatto vivo di nuovo." He says, coming around the counter to embrace you in his arms.

You match his energy and welcome his warm hug. "Hi! I have no idea what you just said but it sounds nice." You responded, with a gleaming smile.

"What I said was, that I was wondering when you would show up again. It's so good to see you again, what can I help you with?"

"Well I'm happy to be back, I absolutely love this place. Hmm, could I get four coffees, black, sugar, and cream on the side, please? And I would like to order an assortment of pastries, a count of ten should be enough. Also a plain bagel with extra cream cheese."

"Would that be all?" He asked while pouring the cups of coffee.

"Yes, that would be it. It's pretty slow for a morning isn't it?" You pointed out.

"Well yes. A lot more competition in the neighborhood, we have our good and bad days. I can't complain, we have many loyal customers that keep coming back like yourself." He said in his thick Italian accent.

"If you'd like I could take some business cards and hand them out at work. Get some more business flowing. If that's ok with you of course." You offered.

"Yes! That would be very much helpful. Thank you so much - eh, your name?"

"Y/n. Yours?"

"Vincenzo."

"Anything to help. Do you work here alone?" You asked looking at the photos on the wall.

"Aye, no. This is a family business, my brother and I run this place but our kids help."

"Having your kids around to help must be nice." You handed him your card.

He swiped your card. "Hm, often at times it is, but I can't help but feel some guilt. They should be out there living their lives rather than helping out their old papa."

"Trust me, if your kids wanted to leave they would've, but they didn't. It's their choice to stay and help, don't feel guilty." You reassured him.

"Grazie." He nodded his head. "Have a good day!"

"You too!" You grabbed the coffee and the bags and headed back to the car.
