14 | The Project

Time skip: 2 weeks later

Nothing much happened. I went to school, hung out with Jayden, and...well, thats it! I've been avoiding Louis as much as possible but it's just so hard when he looks, like that!

I was currently in English class. My second class of the day.

"Alright! Its very early in the school year, but I wanted to get started on our first project! It'll take a while to complete it, so it's good to start early. This project is to be completed with the person sitting next to you, your partners!"

Oh no no! That means I'll have to work with...Louis?? Seriously!?

I turned around to see Louis focused on the teacher but yet trying to hide his smile at the fact that he has to be my partner.

"I want the project to be about the book we're reading...the outsiders. Now before you all say anything, you were supposed to read that book in middle school but I talked to your past teachers, and they said they never got a chance to introduce that book to most of you. No ones ever too old for the outsiders!! Now, you can create this project on a computer using google slides or, using an actual poster. I'll leave that up to you and your partner!"

Everyone's face looked annoyed at the fact we had to read the outsiders. I've already read that book, and I know others had too because they were in my class when we read it. Don't get me wrong, I love the outsiders, but I used to have a serious obsession with them so I must have read and watched the movies like 10 times!!

"Now, for today's homework, I want you all to read from pages 1-24, with your partners, whether it's in school or after school! I also expect you to begin the setup of  your project. Meaning, if your using an actual poster, go out and buy one so you have it ready for tomorrow. If your doing it on a computer, make sure everything works and you have no technical problems! Don't forget to discuss your ideas with your partners on how you want to do it! That's all the information I have for now so before I pass out the books, does anyone have any questions??"

No one said anything so the teacher assumed no one had questions.

"Alright then! I'll pass the books around, but please make sure you do not lose these! They are to be returned after the project!! We have about 5 minutes left of class so you all can use that time to discuss with your partners if you would like."

Once she finished passing around the books, we had about 2 minutes before the bell rang and we were off to our next class. It was really awkward because I don't think either of us wanted to say anything.

I had to break this awkwardness by saying "so, do you want to meet up after school?"

"yeah, that's good! You can come over my house if you want, my parents aren't home at all today. My sisters are but one of them usually stays in her room all day and, well, the other might annoy us a little, but I'll make sure she doesn't annoy us too much!"

"Great! And don't worry about it, I know what it's like to have annoying siblings haha"

He gave me that smile that always makes my stomach get this weird feeling. Thank goodness the bell rang because then he would have seen my bright red cheeks.

Time skip:

School had just ended and me and Louis were walking out of the school building.

"I could bring you to my house if you would like? Besides we live right next to each other! That way we can get to work right away." He said with a smile.

"yeah, sure. Let me just go let my brother know, I'll be back."

Louis nodded as I started walking towards Jack.

"hey, I'm getting a ride from a friend today. He's actually our new neighbor and I have to do a project with him so I'll be over his house."

"Oh that boy over there??" He asked as Louis was leaning against his black car with his arms crossed waiting for me.

"yeah, but he's just a friend."

"Alright, I'll see you later than."

As I was walking away, I said "can you let mom know?? Thanks!"

Jack nodded and got into his car as well. Once I reached to where Louis was I said "ready!" and we both took a seat in his car. Louis obviously in the drivers seat, and me in the passenger seat.

The car ride was really awkward and quiet until he spoke up.

"How long have you been living in London for?"

Really? That was a weird question but I guess a pretty good way to start a conversation.

"My whole life really. My family and I have always lived in South London. What about you?"

"Well, I was actually born and spent my childhood in South London but then my family and I moved to the U.S. when I was about 12 or 13 because I got be in a movie. We thought I was going to get a lot more opportunities in the U.S. but since I'm originally from London, I got more opportunities here. And well, now we're back here filming for another movie."

"What movie were you in??"

"Paddington 2. But it was just a very small roll."

"WAIT!! PADDINGTON 2?! I LOVE THAT MOVIE, HOW COME I DON'T RECOGNIZE YOU?"

"Like I said, I was really young and barely got any scenes."

I noticed I had turned into a little bit of a fan girl but I mean...ITS PADDINGTON 2!!

"Right, sorry, I just loved that movie! Your gonna be famous one day Partridge."

Louis turned to me with a smile and he basically talked to me about his career and what he wants to do in the future, stuff like that. I told him I wanted to become a model but I didn't think I would be able to put myself to it. His exact words were "I think you would suit the model job perfectly!" which made me blush a little. What am I kidding, it made me blush A LOT. We talked the whole car ride, and honestly it felt really comforting and welcome to talk to him. I felt like I could tell him anything and he wouldn't judge me.
