One more folktale

Part 14

"Kihyun_ah I have a good story to recite. Will you listen?"

Shownu has a story to deliver and he turned it into a tale. He has some confidential news regarding him.

"Sure Hyung! I am all ears...even Sarang is looking so focused right now hehe"

Kihyun is now all ears to the next voice that is of Hyunwoo.

"So it is not so famous tale because even I came to know about it yesterday but it is mandatory for you to know about it. It is an old folktale that a very old Otgol villager told me. So once upon a time back when tigers used to smoke, this village was not much known, even the population was not much. Even the kings didn't discovered this place before but later they found out about it and the empire started expanding. But keeping all this aside, before all of this when it was not really known, only few people used to reside over here. There was a family of farmers. There was a husband, a wife, 2 sons and a daughter. The guy was a farmer who used to travel across the village and work under the reign of the King Choi (Member of Gyeongju Choi family during Jaseon dynasty). There were very few neighbors in the village next to that farmer's family. His name was Ahn Junseo. Once there was a very bad climatic condition when he was on his way to the King's farm. In between his way, he saw that the King is going somewhere while riding on his horse with very few guards. Then out of nowhere those guards all together gathered in front of the King and threatened him for his life. Junseo came at the right moment and tried to be a mediator. The guards started attacking him and he responds them back with his incredible martial arts skills. Two guards were left and they gave up and the remaining lost their lives. The King got impressed with his amazing skills and acknowledged him for his bravery and courage. The King asked about him and then he replied that he is the farmer that works under him (the king). The King then asked why did he saved him. He responds that he (the king) allowed many farmers like him to work under him and even paying good for the same, what else does one want and expect. All he need is to feed his family and that is all. He did not have any complaints against him(the king). Now Junseo asked the King that why did he went out during such a devastating weather, the king then replied that if a farmer like him doesn't care about such kind of weather and still willing to do his work then why can't a king be the same. He said that, he left the palace for some pending work. Both of them praised each other and there and then the King decided to make Junsoe something that he actually deserves, he made him the chief commanding officer of the Royal Military of the King without any efforts. Junseo's fighting skills weren't meant to be competed with anyone around that time. Junseo once used to live in China and his masters were the great martial arts teachers, he also became the disciple of Bodhisattvas. Later he came back to Korea and built up his own family and now he is teaching the same things to his sons and even his daughter. Junsoe never discriminated between his sons and daughter. After his promotion, he came back to the village and the news of him becoming Chief commanding officer, spreaded within few hours. The villagers were so happy to know that because Junseo was so humble and down to Earth unlike anybody. He even saved the villagers during heavy storms and attacks from tribal people. He even worked as mediator and taught them the lessons of Bodhisattvas. He also taught them the lessons of love, peace and harmony. The family of Junseo were very proud of him and both of his sons and the daughter were even more empowered by their father and wanted to become exactly like him. The respect for him in his wife's heart grew even more than ever before. Later, King Choi came to know that Junseo was the resident of the village named Otgol and he took that village under his reign in order to protect the village and the villagers from the nearby foes and rivals. They lived happily ever after and with very few chaos that faded slowly from the place under the King's reign and the duty that is payed off by Junseo. And then later Commander Junsoe's sons and daughter grew up and they just like their father, became official military servers under Prince Choi, the son of King Choi. The Prince then fell in love with Junseo's daughter Ahn Ruhee and then they got married. Both of his sons Ahn Hyungsik and Ahn Jihun also got married and both Junseo and his wife Ahn Hara lived the way a life should be spent.
So Kihyun_ah did you understood the main theme of the story?"

Shownu recites the story to Kihyun and Sarangki. In conclusion, he asked him if he understood the main point of the story.

"Of course Hyung. He was like a hero to the villagers and the King due to his amazing skills and that became his fortune."

Kihyun replied

"That could be one of the reason but Kihyun_ah the main reason and the main theme of the story was that King didn't appointed him as Chief commanding officer because of only his Martial arts skills, he appointed him because he first tried to mediate the issue between the King and the guards. After a long time, King told Junseo that he himself once was a disciple of Bodhisattvas and Zen masters. He saw his reflection in Junseo. The main motive is that if harmony, humbleness and negotiations is there in one person, then it could spread like a positive virus to the person who is sitting next to him/her. There would be less wars and only the existence of peace. One should just gather itself together in order to accept patience and self liability. If the person has distributed himself to different divisions rather than one then it is not surprising that why he is the most disturbed one. He has distributed himself to the chaos, destruction, hate, love, friendship, enmity, possessiveness, enviousness, wrath, discrimination etc. But he has never gave himself to peace. A peace that is needed in today's world. He never tried to be a negotiator, a mediator, a master to teach the lessons of love, peace and harmony or a disciple to learn for the same. After all a war doesn't need any weapon, the words are enough to rule and destroy people's heart."

Shownu explained

"Hyung is this why you are such a calm, patience and humble person in our group? No I haven't seen anyone like you ever. I really want to be like you. And...if the story is not much known, but that person told it to you because he must have seen Junseo's reflection in you like the King saw his reflection in Junseo."

Kihyun spoke

"I don't know Kihyun_ah and he even told me that I am the third person after his son and grandson, to whom he told this tale"

Shownu said

"I think the reason I gave was the legal one haha!!"

Kihyun responds

"I have something more important and confidential to tell you"

Shownu spoke

"Huh!! What is it Hyung?"

Kihyun asked

"The military officials, ummm....I don't know how to say it but umm... they appointed me as a legal military server trainee for a month because they said that my physic, strength and knowledge regarding the service is so strong. So instead of wasting much time on enlistment activities that takes two years, they gave me this opportunity. I don't know why but they did. They took few tests both physical and theoretical and I passed them all. But this is just one month training and later they gave me an option to join military legally. But I haven't told about this news to anyone yet, only you. If you will say no, then it will be a confirm no."

He spoke

"Hyung....these are just few reasons why they chose you for military. There are many more. Hyung it is not only upto me who can advice what to do and what not. If you are okay with it then must go for it. It is such a prideful and honourable thing to know that you are getting a chance to stand by our country. Your parents, friends, relatives, Monsta X, Monbebes, kpop industry and even whole South Korea will be proud of you. And I will see you with the eyes of Ahn Hara to her Ahn Junseo. And when Sarang grow up, he would definitely like to became like you. Look the way he is looking at you"

Kihyun responds

"If that is so then it would be a pleasure for me. My one wish out of thousands was to once try to become a military server. So from now on, until you are here, you and Sarang will be under my protection. The most surprising thing is that they allowed me to quit whenever I want because of my career outside this service."

Shownu replies

"That's great Hyung. And what else have you been doing and how have you been doing....?"

And then they engaged themselves in quality time conversations
