She sighed when she caught sight of herself in the mirror. Crying really doesn't do good for your face and mood, y/n noted. Her eyes were puffy and red from the tears last night. She can't go to work this way.. right?

Y/n shuddered at the image of her boss asking her questions (more like investigating, to be completely honest,) about the reason why she showed up looking like this. So in the end the h/c-haired girl decided to send a small letter as to why a day off is needed. The girl had carefully tied a piece of paper around a dove's leg before letting it fly away to where she needs it to be.

Knowing that that's done, she began writing in her journal. It was still morning anyways, it's not like she had anything urgent to be done. The diary of hers was long unused. When was the last time she decided to write in it? It must've been over a year by now.

So she began writing. Y/n wrote everything that she remembers from the time where her life turned into something that looked like it came from a fantasy book to the point where..  everything shattered due to lies and rumors.

The grip she had on the pencil suddenly stopped. Her mind was jumbled now. Way to go, y/n. Now you can't even write properly, She thought. Well, that is before she decided to splash water from her drink to her face. If there were bystanders at this point, they would've thought of her as a girl who lost her mind.

She wrote again, paragraphs after paragraphs she wrote.

Y/n didn't want to lose all the memories. She was scared of losing himー she wouldn't be lying if she said that one of her biggest fears is about losing recollection of someone she once held so close. Y/n didn't want to have only fragmented pieces of memory, she wanted to remember it all. She wanted to cherish them all.

Her pen moved with her will.

The faint smell of lilies every time they hugged,

The enchanting golden strands of hair that seemed to come out of a painting,

The way light blue eyes shone under the summer sun,

The way his laughter echoed throughout the forest,

All the times when they were so carefree,

All the times they would dance together, embracing one and another as if they don't want to part,

She wrote all of them. Her chest was growing warmer with every passing minute. A smile started to gradually appear on her face as she was relieving all the small things about him. Their time together was quickー fleetingー yet it felt like they had known each other for years by now. As if they had known each other before time even started.

Being too optimistic can kill, they say. But Y/n would disagree with it, what she's doing now isn't embedding optimism into herself, no, what she's doing right now is planting hope inside her heart. No matter how small hope is, it still is a feeling that makes you look forward to a certain thing.

After a while, the strokes of her pen slowed down. This was probably the most she has written in years, and she was proud of it.

She was proud of herself.
