Y/n brushed sweat that had been dripping over her cheeks. The day was hotter than usual, enough to make anyone lazier than normal. But then again, the weather didn't make people quiver.

All around, merchants were screaming at the top of their lungs. Hoping to attract buyers that is.

People were walking around the streets aimlessly searching for something they want.

And there was y/n. Holding a sack filled with potatoes along the road. "Wah! I see you're working hard today too! Goodluck y/n." Cheered a woman in her 40s.
The girl knew her quite well. The woman always helped her in everything, her shop was always y/n's favorite.

After giving a nod, the girl hurriedly walked away to the place she was heading. It was nothing special really, only the same monotone shop. But this one was special, it's where y/n works everyday.

The h/c haired girl placed the sack on the storage room. Her hand quickly opening it and reorganized it on the wooden trays. She was glad that the process finished faster than usual.
She then made her way towards her boss, the all knowing merchant around this part of the kingdom.

"I've finished organizing it. What should I do know?"

Her boss smiled, "Nice work as ever! You can take a rest. Been busy unloading the ingredients, eh? Now leave it to me on selling them."

"Alright!" She answered. A break means free time for the rest of the day! Her muscles have been so sore after unloading, it's unreal how much she wants a break.

A quick bow was given to her boss, and her legs took off. Y/n pondered where she can go in such weather. She decided to stop by a fruit stall.

Nothing beats fresh fruit in summer!

While munching on her fruit, she heard a particular gossip from the merchant and the buyer not too far from where she was.

"Haven't you heard? Prince Minamoto escaped the palace!"

Y/n sighed. These people never learn. The last time someone gossiped about the throned family was about a few months ago and when the king found out, the person had to be executed in public. 'Tainting their good name.' they say. It would be very unwise to start another gossiping problem.

(The king loved killing people for absurd excuses, but he did bring glory so people didn't mind that much.)

Yet again, countless people still gossip about them. The throned family are such a news that nobody wants to miss.

What is it this time? A missing prince? Surely they would just get him back to where he belongs right?

The merchant and the buyer were too invested in their stories that they didn't realize y/n's existence. She took the chance and ran away. Her steps were silent but surely, no one had known what she had done.

A huge grin decorated her face.

What a day! Having to eat without paying is more than a bliss!

She continued walking until an idea popped. The forest. The h/c haired girl smiled bitterly as her legs took off.
