August.
Draya was just cuddled up on my chest, sleeping like she just worked a double.
She been getting along with my family for the most part. They like her and that's always a plus. Last female I brought around, they hated. Literally talked shit in the girl face. We just a blunt ass family.
Draya just started drooling on my shoulder, now I know it's time to put her ass in the bed. I picked her up bridal style and started to take her upstairs. I was walking through the kitchen when everybody stopped doing what they were doing and looked at me.
"Damn, Aug."
"What?"
"Such a gentleman." Trav said mocking Madea from Madea Goes To Jail, the movie one. I shook my head and kept going up the stairs. I pushed my door open, and closed it with my foot. I laid her on the bed, and changed my shirt. I kissed her forehead and was about to walk out when she called my name.
"Wassup, mama?"
"Where are you going?"
"Downstairs. I ain't wantchu ta be interrupted, so I brought you up hea'." She smiled a little. "The bathroom right across da hall." She mumbled a 'okay' and turned on her side. I shook my head and jogged back down the stairs.
"Are we the only ones missing something?" Chan asked, referring to herself, Net, and my granny who just appeared out of nowhere. I walked over and kissed her cheek, and took a seat at the end of the island.
"I dunno'. Whatchu think you missin'?"
"Wassup with baby girl? She been yawnin' and whatnot since she been hea'." Net said. Chan looked at me, squinting.
"What?"
"She's pregnant." Net looked from Chan to me.
"Stop playin'." She thought this was a joke. I put my head down, and ran my hands through my hair. My granny smacked me in the back of the head.
"Ah, granny." I said, standing up and moving away from her.
"Mama!" My mama said, tryna hold in her laughs. "Don't be hittin' on my baybeh."
"Don't try ta take up fa me na', you was jus' laughin'." Everybody was rolling. These were the family moments we enjoyed. Just being able to sit around and laugh it up. That's the main reason I brought Draya over here, and her ass sleep.
"So she is?" Net, asked. I nodded. "August."
"It's not my job ta put ha business out thea', so she gon' have ta tell y'all."
"I guess now is a better time than never." Her voice came out of nowhere. She was leaning against the wall by the stairs, that nobody saw her come down. I was sitting on the counter, looking around the kitchen. Everybody looked a little shocked.
"Come hea', baybeh." I spoke, motioning for her to come over to me. She slowly made her way over. She looked up at me, then put her head down. "Uh uh, lift ya head up. Ya too beautiful ta be lookin' down." I said more to her, but everybody still heard me.
My family also got bionic ears, they hear everything.
I lifted her head up with my finger, making her look at me. I leaned down to kiss her, and she put her hand in the way.
"I know you see all these people in this kitchen, stop playing." Everybody laughed. I sucked my teeth.
"No, you stahp playin'." I grabbed her face, bringing it to mine. Trav ass always ruining the moment.
