Draya.
I can't believe he has me telling him this.
"I–" I sighed as I placed my hands, palms down on the table. "I've taken a strong liking to you. Meaning, I appreciate everything you've done with and for me. Your relentless ass brought me out of my comfort zone. I think you're smart, kind when you want to be, and..." I trailed off.
"And what?" He asked as the waitress returned. I raised my eyebrow at him, he smirked.
"Your drinks." She said sitting them down. "Are you guys ready to order?"
"I'll have a medium order of boneless honey barbecue wings and a basket of fries."
"And for you, sir?"
"A large order of traditional wings, mild."
"So a medium order of boneless honey barbecue, a basket of fries, and a large order of traditional mild. Anything else?"
"Nah, that's it for now." She nodded and walked away.
I wish his ass would look at her again. I have strong jealous tendencies, and I can tell that they're showing right now.
"So you gon' finish talkin'?"
"I think your fine as hell. You're a cool ass person who I like to be around." I admit.
August smiled, and sat up in his seat. Then he started rubbing his hands together like Birdman, making me laugh at his foolishness.
"Aight, I'm not one to just admit my feelin's, but you do thangs to me." He chuckled and I raised a brow at him. "You different from what I'm used to. I usually have females throwin' themselves at me, and you didn't. You tried ta avoid me, but you knew that wasn't workin' out too well."
I playfully rolled my eyes as he continued.
"You beautiful and ya smile is gorgeous. What I'm tryna say is... you smart with somethin' going for ya'self, even wit this minor setback. You stronger than a lot of people, because they woulda took the easy way out. Allat bein' said, I'm feelin' you, mo' 'dan you prolly think."
I knew at that moment that I had a dummy smile on my face as he reached across the table and grabbed my hands. I looked down at our hands, then back up at him.
The moment was ruined by his phone ringing, which he was ignoring it at first.
"August, answer the phone." He sighed and let go of one of my hands.
"Helluh? Da fuck?"
I could tell he was getting angry at whoever he was talking to, or at whatever they were saying.
"Whea' y'all at man?" He sighed. "Bring it to me. We at the bdubs downtown. Aight, one."
I looked at him kind of crazy because I was completely oblivious as to what just happened.
"Um, what's going on?"
"You'a see when it get here."
"Fine." I sat back, never moving my hand.
August squeezed it and gave me a reassuring smile.
I played Candy Crush until Natasha brought our food. And it seemed as if on cue, Sneak and Rodney walked in, and over to us.
"Here man." Sneak said as he dropped a folded piece of paper on the table, then snatched one of Aug's wings. He mugged him, then opened the paper. Sneak sat down next to Aug, and I scooted over to let Rod sit down.
