As soon as I got out of River's grasp I ran towards Mason's car. I opened the door and looked back at my house.

The fire died down slightly but I know they put petrol everywhere so it'll be burning for a while. My eyes locked onto River and he stared at me. There was no trace of hurt on his face.

Not after our conversation.

Not even when Camila approached him and caught him staring at me. I saw Kane barely make it out of the fire along with a few men but the others were dead for sure.

I got in the car and shut it behind me before putting on my seatbelt. "What the-" Mason gasped as he eyed the house and I faced the front. "Just drive," I choked and he pressed on the accelerator and sped out of the street.

"I'll be one second. You can park away from the house if you want," I suggested as I shut the door behind me. Mason called out my name but I didn't turn around as I approached the house.

I took my time in each room. First, I raided the kitchen for all my snacks that River doesn't eat.

He won't be needing those anyways.

I went to the gym to get all my equipment, which isn't a lot honestly. Headed upstairs to check my wardrobe and sure enough, everything was empty. Camila packed it all away for me.

I grabbed my hair equipment because they're expensive and he definitely won't be needing it.

I walked down the stairs that led to the living room and sighed as I looked around. This is gonna be my last time here. Knowing River, he'll definitely move because of the memories.

They'll be too much for him.

They're too much for me.

I walked out of the front door and Mason was still in the driveway as I opened the backseat. I threw the bag of things into the back before getting in the front.

"Where are we going?" He asked and I looked at him. He stared back at me and I realised that I probably look a hot mess.

That guy's blood was still on my face and on my clothes and my hair was dishevelled.

"Serena's," I said as I took off my combat boots. I pulled out the extra blade that was in there and took out various other items that I had on my person.

"Did you get shot?" He asked and I nodded. "Yeah on my back, but I'm fine. I need to change though," I mumbled as he stopped at a traffic light.

We both watched the ambulance cars on the other side of the road drive past us and I ignored it. I think River will handle those bodies but I can't be sure. I'm surprised he even let me go to begin with, but I know him.

This won't be the last time I see him.

Mason pulled up at Serena's house and once we got out of the car, her doors swung open and she ran outside towards us.

"Your house is on fire and it's all over the news and...oh." She stopped as she took in my appearance. "I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you were there?" She questioned and I nodded.

"Is that your blood?" She questioned as Mason locked his car and we all walked up to her place. "No, some guy that Camila shot," I muttered and her Serena's eyes widened.

"I know right. I didn't think River was all that but her obsession with him shows how lucky I really was," I shrugged and Serena shook his head.

"When you've slept with him enough times..." She began.

"...He becomes your everyday, run-of-the-mill, gang leader boyfriend," I finished for her and she nodded.

Mason shut the door behind us as I jogged up her staircase and into one of her closests.

She has more of those than bedrooms.

I took a hot shower and picked out some basic clothes before coming downstairs again. I brushed my hair and left it out, since it was still straight.

"So when are you guys actually leaving?" Serena asked as I leaned over her table. Mason stood behind me and had his arm on my waist and we both looked at each other before facing her.

"We sort of have to go now I guess," He said as he looked down at me and I nodded. "Okay good, because you need to leave." She said as she pointed towards the tv that was playing behind us. We both turned around and my eyes widened at the sight of my picture on the news.

So he didn't clean up the mess. He dragged me down instead.

"That's why he didn't take me," I thought to myself as I turned back to face Serena. "He was gonna let the police do it instead."

My phone pinged and I took it out as I saw a text from Vanessa.

VANESSA: the jet is at camila's. it's ready to go

ME: you could've just said your source was camila you know

VANESSA: oh come on, Ny. then it wouldn't have been as fun :)

I rolled my eyes as I switched off my phone. I dropped it on the floor and used the heel of my combat boots to smash it.

"Well that was sort of dramatic," Serena commented as I picked it up again. I took out the sim card and broke it in half. "They'll be tracking me. The jet's ready to go," I answered and Mason nodded.

"I hope I'll see you again," Serena said as she gave me a hug. "You will," I promised as Mason and I left her place. We got in his car and drove towards Camila's.

"Today has been a lot," Mason sighed as I lifted my legs up and he glared at me. "Damn you have that rule too?" I teased as I put my feet down.

"If I can recall, so do you," He countered and I shrugged.

"Yeah that was before my car got totalled," I added. "We'll get you a new one, when we go to Paris," He smirked and my eyes widened.

"We're going to Paris?!" I squealed and he nodded. "I thought we should do a little trip of Europe. We both need a break," He said and I couldn't contain my smile.

Maybe going away is the best idea.

We pulled up at Camila's house and Mason drove through the driveway and towards the back where her jet is.

Mason drove up the jet's hangar door and parked inside. "You look excited," He teased and I climbed out of the car. "I am," I said excitedly as I shut the car door and went up to the main area of the plane.

I walked up to the controls room and Julio was sat on the pilot's seat. "Hey, we're ready to leave," I said and he nodded.

"Great! Oh, and Miss Camila said to give this to you," He said with his Italian accent coming through. I smiled as him as I took the envelope and walked back to the seats.

Mason was relaxed on a chair and I opened it and pulled out the card.

𝗜'𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴.

"Hey you okay?" Mason asked as I stopped and repeatedly read the note. "Yeah, I'm okay," I lied as I forced a smile and tore up the note. I threw it in a nearby trash bin and sat next to him.

I leaned into his arms as I felt the plane take off.

the end.
