"Did you seriously have to blindfold me?" I whined as I gripped onto River's arm.

"I'm sure you're enjoying touching me, but relax." He teased and I punched his arm and he groaned.

"Shut the fuck up. It's not like I can see." I muttered as he stopped me.

"Are we there?" I asked and he paused for a long time.

Oh no he didn't...

"You promised there wouldn't be any stairs!" I cried out. "Well, I forgot!" He countered and I sighed.

I don't like not being able to see. They say blocking out one of your senses heightens the others, and I would rather not be able to feel or touch River than see him. And now I have to trust him enough to guide me up steps too?

"This shit better be worth it." I mumbled.

"Don't worry it will be. Now I'm gonna pick you up okay?" He said and I stretched out my arms. He lifted me up and I wrapped my arms and legs around his body as he slowly climbed up a few stairs. He walked forward for a while and then stopped.

"You can let go now princess." He grumbled and I latched off of him.

He turned me around to face, which I presume is the right direction, and kept his hands on my waist.

"This is very last-minute because you told me about it like a few hours ago, but think of this as a birthday present," He said softly.

"Wait you got me a present? Why the hell would you do that?"

"Well I wanted to," He countered and I gave in.

He probably got me clothes or something.

"Okay you ready?" He teased and I nodded. I felt the blindfold being released from my face and I blinked a few times to adjust my vision.

My eyes widened at the size of the one-floor house.

"River it's huge. It's a nice place you got here, definitely better than the warehouse." I said as I walked around and admired the space.

It was fully furnished but didn't look like anyone lived here. I walked back towards him and he took my hand in his. He let go and my heart stopped at the keys in my hands.

No way. He didn't. Oh my god, he did.

"You got me a house?!" I screamed and he blinked a few times. I'm guessing I didn't give him the reaction he expected.

"Why the fuck would you get me a house?!" I shouted as I held the keys up and he tried to calm me down.

Is he out of his mind?!

I violently began hitting him with my fists and he eventually grabbed both of my wrists and I groaned loudly as he pulled me towards him and locked eyes with me.

What is he doing to me?

I pulled away and ran my hands through my hair.

"I'm guessing you're not very good with surprises." He muttered and I shook my head before turning around to look at the place, at a loss for words.

It's fucking huge.

"I didn't ask for a house, why would you get me a house?!" I don't know why I'm crying but the tears aren't stopping.

River was in shock and didn't know what to do.

I looked down at the keys in my hand with tears in my eyes.

"Why would you get me this?" I asked again as I waved the keys in his face and he pulled me to his chest for a hug as I continue sobbing.

"It's a birthday present." He said as he stroked my hair and I cried even harder.
