This was the second football game I had ever attended, my high school was never one to get into the school spirt. We never had a football pitch nor a school team, but that was okay I guess as truth be told I wouldn't have gone to them if they did have them anyways.
So I put my red and white top on, paired with my flats and some black jeans and made my way to the game. It was just passed six o'clock, the sun was slowly fading away, and the neighbourhood was quiet. The only place that seemed somewhat alive was the school, that's field lights flooded the large green pitch.
It had been a long and humid day, and there were many people expected to show up, so I came early to help set up, first at the ticket booth and then the field to make sure all the bleachers were fine. By the time I had done students had already started to pour in and make noise.
I decided to check in the teachers down at the booths again to make sure none of them needed any help. I came down next to Mr Dubois, the French teacher. As I walked closer I saw a guy who seemed very familiar. He had a cross tattoo on the side of his neck and a tense but kind look to his face. Where have I seen him before?
I asked around if anyone needed help but Mr Dubois smirked and said it was all okay. I then went back in to make sure all students were doing what they were supposed to do. Once there I saw a group of women sitting, they looked like they were older than the rest and most likely had graduated by now. I'm guessing that tatted guy I saw was with them.
The cheerleaders had started their routine and I was now sat beside James, known as Mr Dubois by the students, we had become close over the past week. I had first had my walls up and was weary of all the staff, but James had managed to become a close friend of mine who I ate lunch together with from time to time. We sat side by side chatting about our personal lives, who both had a mutual love for teaching and were not so interested in the football match occurring in front of us. And to make it even better we were both new to the school this year, so we had much to talk about.
At around half time I got up to go to the toilets,
"Wait, let me come with" I turned and saw James jogging towards me. "Wouldn't what you to get lost!"
"I don't think you would be much help if I did" I laughed back.I checked out my reflection in the bathroom mirror, hoping it was the lighting that made me look this tired. Turning to lean on the sink, I crossed my arms and thought back to that guy, out of nowhere I remembered him, that guy from the house party. No, that was him, the scene of the drunkard came back to my mind. I pushed myself off the ledge and tried to shake off the remembrance of him, why was I feeling this was about a guy I had seen for a split second and didn't even know the name of ? Unconsciously I shivered out of disgust, too often I find myself catching feelings for the most random of people, especially the the wrong times in my life. I was not about to fall back into my stupid habits straight after staring anew. Taking a deep breath I pushed my hair back and exited to find James there just as I left him.

Man I tried to focus, I really did, but I just couldn't help myself. She was sitting in the distance talking to this random white guy, and laughing throughout the entire game, I don't think she noticed but I saw the way he looked at her, even when they weren't talking his eyes never left her and half way through she had left with him to somewhere private. The thought of her being taken was uncomfortable, I wonder if she was single? Or if she would even give me a chance especially given out different careers. With that I decided that I was going to make a move on her the next chance I got, but for now Spooky and Juan needed my help
