The sun laughed as the cherry clouds danced across the sky. It was a new beginning.
Freeridge, South California.
The state of sunny beaches and kale smoothies.
I hauled my bags out the trunk of the old taxi that brought me to my new home. I arrived about a hour ago and was met with instant rays of calming sunshine. The feeling of being unknown was comforting, I could start fresh and be who I want to be.
The Westcoast, many where I'm from dreamed of coming to this paradise but only few were privileged enough to leave and start fresh.
The taxi shot off and I was now stood in front of my new residence for the time being. I pushed open the old wired fence and entered the building complex. Fumbling I took out the keys and wiggled them in the door handle whilst also uttering a prayer in good measure. I took a step into the modest apartment whilst hauling my luggage in and took a breath of my surroundings in, it was small but it was my own I thought.
There was a small couch sat to my right and some rusty wooden stairs to my left, the room was bare but has some sort of assurance to it. Leaving by gas by the door I fell onto the sofa.
Nose all I have to do is become comfortable in my new life.

After hours of looking I arrived at a place called 'Tatis Corner Cafe'.
For a week before hand I made sure to secure a job in the area I would be living in just for good measure.Now standing outside the café I tussled my hair and made sure my appearance looked good before entering the store.
A small chime sounded to announce my arrival. A small brown haired woman stood cleaning one of the tables and smiled at me.
"Hi, I'm here for a interview" I said trying to push confidence out of me.
"Oh, um I'm Mandy? follow me"Following her orders I followed as she lead me through the back of the store till we reached a room that was marked 'mangers' in a worn metal plate.
Knocking twice she peeped through the door before motioning me to enter.
"Good luck" her voice said animatedly.
"Thank you"The door shut heavily behind me and I was greeted by a stern looking woman, who's face bore some resemblance to my tenth grade chemistry teacher.
"Good afternoon, I'm Imaan"
"Hello Imaan, please take a seat" she said with minimal emotion in her voice.I sat and held my professionalism together.
About twenty minutes and a hour later I'd been offered a job. I once again sounding the chime left the store with evident glee shining through my face.
Whilst leaving the store a red lowrider that was playing loud music pulled up .I saw a group to white vest wearing men leaving but didn't pay much attention to the as I walked by.
~~~
I came home just as the sun had nearly set.
After spreading out the groceries and worrying some more of my belongings in order to make this place seem more homely.Trying to sleep all I could think of was my first day of work and how I would take customers orders. It was only a small job but it would go till I start my main job in a month.
