A.N. POV might occasionally change from Vox's POV.

Fuyuki City, or what was left of it, burned. A once-bustling city, and the site of the Fifth Holy Grail War, now the equivalent to Hell on Earth. Vox Amethyst ignored it all, though, as she absently twirled Solas Dawn around, her open trench coat slightly flowing behind her from the occasional gust of wind. Leading her Master through the city is Mash Kyrielight, the only known Demi-Servant in human history.

Mash glances over her shoulder at her Master, "We are nearly there, Senpai."

"I hear you, Mash," Vox says while spinning and tossing Solas Dawn into the air before catching it, all the while never slowing her pace.

"How can you be so calm, Senpai?" Mash asks, slowing slightly so that she is walking beside Vox, "There's fire everywhere. Fuyuki is burning, something that was never said to have happened."

"To answer your question, Mash, my teacher put me through a lot in the twelve years I was under his tutelage. Heh, Oide (teacher) put me through hell and back, showed me the worst of the world so that I could be prepared for it. And I never regretted accepting his offer," Vox smiles reminiscently, before shaking her head, "Anyway, isn't this a Singularity? Of course, there's going to be differences when compared to historical records."

"That makes sense, I suppose," Mash concedes, "I'm also interested in this teacher you keep referring to. You called them oide. Isn't that Irish for teacher?"

"Yeah. Believe it or not, I actually do have Irish heritage. My great-grandfather, my mother's grandfather, moved to America when he was a kid. I'm also Italian and Japanese, those are from my father's side. It's a miracle my family was able to combine so many traditions," I chuckle.

"That sounds fascinating," Mash comments, "It has to be amazing, having so much lineage and culture."

"It is interesting, I guess, until you have a giant family get-together. Then you have the Italians shouting, the Irish shouting with them, the Japanese staying mostly quiet, and then the Americans are a bit of everything," I shake my head, "Craziest Christmas ever."

Mash giggles and opens her mouth to say something, but is interrupted.

"Kyaaaaaaaa!"

"What the hell was that!?" Vox exclaims.

"That was the scream of a woman! This way!" Mash starts running down the street in the direction of the scream.

"Right behind you!" Vox exclaims, running after Mash with Solas Dawn held in her right hand.

A half-minute later, the duo arrives at the source.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me!" Vox groans.

"Groooooo..."

"St-stay away from me!" Director Olga Marie Animusphere yells as she backs away from a group of skeletons.

"Mash, get 'em!" Vox shouts, tracing a rune with Solas Dawn ᛋ, "Sowilo!"

A bolt of lightning darts out of the rune and impacts against a skeleton behind the Director, sending it to the ground as a pile of charred bones. Mash rushes forward and smashes apart the skeletons in front of the Director. Vox rush over to stand beside the woman, knocking down a few skeletons with her staff as she goes, "Director! Are you okay?"

Mash takes up a defensive position in front of the two non-Servants while the Director looks at Vox in surprise, "You! What are you doing here!?"

"Really, this is your reaction to me saving your life?" Vox sighs, "Y'know what? Doesn't matter. Fight now, talk later. Mash!"
