"How much farther, Caster?" I ask as we walk through the forest.
We had left behind the burning remains of Fuyuki an hour ago, and skeleton attacks have lessened up significantly. Although, I almost miss the damn things. At least with the skeletons, we had something to do instead of walking!
"Not much, Master," Caster answers from the front of our group.
I groan, "You said that ten minutes ago!"
Caster flashes me a grin and that's all I need to know that he's enjoying this. I open my mouth to yell at him when-
"Master! Down!" Ushi shouts.
I don't even question my Servant and drop to my stomach. I did so just in time as something lunges at where I had been standing, twin daggers slicing through the air. I roll to the side and spring to my feet to get a better look at the creature.
It looks similar to a skeleton, except that everything about it is a dull grey color and its bones look less human-like. Its head is the most obvious difference, though, as it's missing everything but the jaws.
If there had been any more details, I missed them as Ushi dashes past me and at the weird skeleton, decapitating it. The thing stumbles back but still seems to be "alive". That is until Ushiwakamaru cuts it in half horizontally.
As the weird skeleton falls to the ground, I turn to Caster, "The hell was that!?"
Caster doesn't look at me as he crouches beside the dead skeleton, studying it closely. After a minute, he stands back up and turns to the rest of the group.
"It's a Dragon Tooth Warrior," Caster explains, "More dangerous than the average skeleton, but still nothing when compared to a Servant. A human, on the other hand, would have more than a little trouble."
I could practically feel Mash preparing to tell me to stay out of further combat. As she walks up to me, I merely turn to her and give Mash a blank stare, daring her to try and convince me to stay on the sidelines. After a few seconds, Mash ducks her head in defeat.
Glad that I won our silent battle, I walk up to Caster, patting Mash's shoulder and ruffling Ushi's hair as I go, "So, Caster, how much farther?"
"Well, these Dragon Tooth Warriors become more common the closer you get to Saber's lair, so I'd say we're close," Caster answers.
"I suppose this means we should expect to deal with more of these things," the Director observes.
Caster nods and we continue our journey.
Timeskip(brought to you by Vox taunting Caster with a spear she stole from a skeleton lancer)
"These guys are really getting on my nerves!" I snarl as I bring up Solas Dawn to block a Dragon Tooth Warrior's sword.
I shove the sword away and shove the end of Solas Dawn into the Dragon Tooth Warrior's ribcage, a rune ᚱ glowing on the staff, "Raido!"
A burst of concentrated force smashes the Warrior's ribcage, killing it. I turn, quickly tracing a rune ᚲ, "Kenaz!"
A fireball crashes against the charging Dragon Tooth Warrior lancer. The Warrior is sent flying back, its bones charred black.
I send a glare Caster's way when he laughs from where he is standing a few feet from me.
"What's wrong, kid?" Caster asks, "The small fry giving you trouble?"
'Really starting to consider the "set Caster's hair on fire" option.'
I turn as another Warrior, a saber, runs at me. I bring Solas Dawn, holding it like a spear as a rune ᚷ glows, "Gebo!"
