"So, let me get this straight," I say, as we walk down the road towards the town of Lyon, "Alter has a true dragon. We can't kill any true dragons that are controlled by the Dragon Witch."

"Yes," Artoria nods.

After waking up, and being only slightly less embarrassed than the last time over my sleeping arrangements, we started making our way to our next destination. Martha had, sadly, decided she would not be joining us. Something about repenting, I don't know. Thankfully, she did give us some parting advice and said she would answer my summons if I called before she did some sort of self-destruct and disintegrated into gold dust.

"Which means the only way we can kill a true dragon is with a dragon slayer," I continue, "And there's a dragon slayer in Lyon."

"Correct."

"Cool," I say after a few seconds.

'Is this what my life has come to? Saving the world by walking all over France and occasionally getting into fights?'

"By the way, how far away is Lyon?"

"Well, first we will stop at a town to ask about the status of Lyon before traveling to the city itself," Jeanne answers.

"And how long will this take?"

"A few hours, at least."

'...I'm bored.'

It's around ten when we reach the town Jeanne mentioned. Marie ever so kindly offered to go into town and ask around. I then proceeded to spend the next half hour entertaining myself by playing with Gil. We were about to begin a game of hide and seek with Fou and Sionnach when I felt the presence of a Servant approaching.

"Everyone, I have the information!" Marie says as she skips over to us.

'That girl has way too much energy.'

"Sorry, kit," I apologize to Gil before walking over to the main group, "Alright, let's hear it."

"To put it simply, Lyon was destroyed a little while ago," Marie says, "Its refugees have settled here and the town is now filled with monsters. They also said Lyon had a protector."

"I'm going to assume this is our dragon slayer Servant?" I guess.

"Mmhm. But a little while ago, some scary people came," Marie says, "Servants, most likely. He was overwhelmed by their numbers and is now missing. And since Lyon had lost its protector, it was destroyed."

"I hope he's alive," Mash says, "No, let's believe in the words of Saint Martha."

"Oh, right, they said General Gilles de Rais marshaled the routed soldiers," Marie adds, "He's planning to attack Lyon and take back the city."

"Gilles!" Jeanne exclaims, surprised.

"I'm sure it would be... difficult to meet with him," Mash says.

"No kidding, I doubt anyone in France would like to meet with Jeanne right now," I point out, giving Ruler an apologetic look, "No offense."

"It is alright, Master," Jeanne sighs, "This only makes it more clear that we must stop this Dragon Witch."

"Glad you see it my way," I grin, "Now, let's get going. I honestly doubt those soldiers will be able to clear out the town."

"Yes, I suppose so," Jeanne says.

"Hey, chin up. We'll clear it out for them," I add.

"R-right."

"Yes, that's what it means to be a commander! Here's your reward!" Marie exclaims, before kissing me on the cheek.
