Chapter 14

Y/n's POV

Everyone cheered for the little man and he started explaining the rules of the festival.

"Use of weapons is strictly forbidden! Men who let their fists do the talking should hurry up and sign away! The winners gonna get one hundred gold coins, but that's not all you also get to take home this giant war hammer!"

"What a barbaric gathering. Right captain?" King complained.

"We're gonna put in our names aren't we!" Ban ignored King's complaint.

"Let's see who's got what it takes!" Meliodas excitedly yelled.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. It's quite obviously just a big trap.

"Are you guys sure about this? It just seems like it could be a trap." I interrupted their fun.

"I have to agree with Y/n. It's too risky to do something like this much less be at a huge event. We're still considered fugitives and we should just steal the hammer."

"Don't be a party pooper King" Ban groaned.

"Hey! Count us in!" Meliodas shouted at the man taking names for the fights.

"Totally barbaric" King whispered.

A huge man grabbed Meliodas by the shirt and lifted him to his level.

"This ain't a festival for little kids, get outta here!"

"Sorry I don't see what the problem is" Meliodas squeaked with his shirt muffling his voice.

"Hey there friend, this is a festival okay? Just relax" a boy with a terrible haircut said to the large man.

"Who do you think you are? My name is Taizoo and I've been the winner of this festival three years in a row."

The man proceeded to drop Meliodas and walk away from us.

What an asshole and why does this boy have such a terrible haircut, it looks like his mom cut it for him. Actually, he looks about sixteen so that's not too farfetched.

The terrible haircut boy started giving himself a pep talk on how he's gonna win the fighting festival because "work has gotten in the way every year and this is his only chance."

He doesn't have a chance against any of us.

After a couple of minutes passed we had to head to the top of the rock area and get into the fighting ring.

"The fighting festival elimination round will now begin! All fighters into the ring!" The same small man as before yelled at everyone.

"Captain do I have to do this? Can I just go back with Diane and Elizabeth? I'm still injured y'know" I whined.

"It'll be worth it in the end, and if you get more injured I can take care of you."

That's actually super sweet of him.

"Well then prepare to take care of me."
