Elinor Wright and Anna Harris were best friends at high school. But after they graduated, their paths separated when Anna decided to start her career as a violinist at London College of Music.
3 years had passed and their lives drifted apart...until...
„Here you go", Jamie said as he opened the car door and watched her getting inside.
„Thank you very much mr. celloboy.", Elinor teased , cocking her head.
He chuckled, closing the car door and went to the driver's side. „You are pretty creative with your nicknames.", he mused as he started the car, driving out of the little street. She chuckled in response.
The drive went on and a comfortable silence filled the air. Both just enjoyed each other's company and watched the streets rolling by when suddenly, some raindrops fell onto the windscreen. Elinor sat still and watched intently as more and more traces cloaked her view, muffled sounds of pitter-patter coming along with it.
Jamie noticed her being mesmerized by the comfortable ambience and started humming, very quietly. Elinor smiled as she listened to his deep and warm voice. She knew the song and started singing along with it. Jamie gave her a look from the side and giggled, singing a little louder and smiling at her as their voices mingled.
(in case u haven't noticed, It's the song Jamie sang when he poured the glass of water onto Nina's face hehe)
The patter of the rain grew louder and louder and soon they had to fight against it by singing as loudly as they could . Not caring about singing right or wrong notes, they ended up bawling out the lyrics and laughing hard.
Arriving at a red light, Jamie rested his underarms on the driving wheel and dropped his forehead in between them as an attempt to compose himself, accidentally sounding the horn with it.
A loud honk echoed through the almost completely deserted muddy streets of London. Jamie winced at the sudden noise, jumping slightly in his seat as it rang out and looking a bit baffled.
„I've rarely been so scared, oh god.", he admitted, trying to compose himself and laughing it off.
Elinor started giggling again and rested one hand on his shoulder, causing him to turn his gaze her. „Everything okay?", she asked a bit worried.
„Yes yes, no need to bother yourself with it", he leaned over to her and patted her head, gently kissing her forehead. The light went green again and he restarted the car, relieved that nobody was behind him.
As time went by Jamie eventually turned into a more secluded street and stopped in front of a low-rise building that was made out of brick. It looked a bit rundown. Multiple grey windows covered the facade and every story was linked with one another by a rusty-looking fire ladder. The gloomy weather made it look a bit dark and intimidating, but the warm light coming from some of the windows every so often softened its Impression and created a homey and cozy feeling, putting a little smile on Elinor's face.
