Chapter 1-Mustang

I walked out the back door carrying 3 glasses of lemonade, when i heard the sound of a young boy "daddy, daddy daddy!" Maes called running towards me, a small bird lay in his hands, its wings misshapen and broken. He ran towards me his arms outstretched He gasped as his foot caught the chair and he flew forward. I caught him in one swift movement by his collar, and set him upright. I chuckled and sat him on the chair. "here you are, drink the lemonade. where is dad?" i asked handing him his special drinking cup.He pointed to the study window and sucked on the cup, the coldness of the drink cooling him down.
I sighed and turned back into the house. "Ed has been in the attic latley...he misses alchemy alot." i thought walking up the stairs. I peeked behind the door and saw that his back was to me, his top showing his tanned muscles. I snuck up and buried my face into his neck making him sequel. He turned and kissed me on the lips, placing the book on the desk.
"Where is Maes?" he asked turning towards me... I looked at him moved his hair from his face "outside." i replied moving back to allow him to stand up.
"You miss alchemy dont you.." i quizzed looking at the book on his desk that read "Alchemy: A history."

Ed looked at the book and sighed "kinda...i guess" he said rubbing the back of his neck. I nodded and pecked him on the lips, "there is lemonade downstairs if you want any." I looked down and sighed.
"Havock called me today from his hometown...He's being evacuated, the war has moved south..."
Ed groaned and looked out the window towards Maes who was chasing a butterfly.
"As if the Ishvalan war wasn't enough.."

I nodded and hugged him, his smell giving me a sense of peace.
"oh, by the way...a letter came for you today, it was a big white one addressed from the military..i didnt open it because it looked private." Said Ed looking me in the eye.

I stepped away and smiled "ill go open it shall I?" i said turning to go back downstairs.

I reached the bottom of the stairs and picked up the letter. "jeez, its heavy" i thought tearing it open. It read:

Dear Mr Roy Mustang,

Due to your service and duties to the Military in the past, it has been decided that by the that you return to the military and take position as an Alchemist in the front line. If you do not show on the date provided, military police will come to your house and collect you for a trial in front of the high court.
Due to you having a child, your boyfriend Edward Elric shall stay at home and look after your child. Your time shall end in 4 years, with a total of 3 months a holiday per year.

List of needed things:
1. Needed uniform (provided)
2. packed belongings
3. addresses for letters soon to be sent to loved ones
4. Full certificate of Military duties, including certification certificate.
You must report to the military on the final sunday of this month

I placed the letter back on the table and covered my face with my hands.
"whats wrong?" asked Ed coming downstairs.
I shook my head allowing him to engulf me in a hug. "what is it Roy?" he asked again making me look him in the eye.
"I need to return to the military, i need to return to the front line as a state alchemist...I need to kill people again" i said.
Ed stuttered and stared as the realization kicked in.."how long?" he asked sitting on one of the stairs.
"4 years, with 3 months a year for holiday."

Ed groaned "what about me and Maes?" he asked
I closed my eyes, tears forming. "You are to stay here and look after him, and iv'e to report to the military on the final sunday of this month."

Ed placed his face in his hands... "then that settles it...you're going to war.." he said looking at me.

Ohhhh. so how is it looking so far??
Firstly, if you havent read my first book A FLAMED ETERNITY, you might want to do that so everything makes sense.
Can we take a minute to think of the fact the Roy and Ed have adopted! AND called their son Maes!!

Also same things apply, dedicated to the same people as before...however a quick shoutout to: AWW_EDWARD_ELRIC. They seemed to enjoy my previous royxed fanfic before..so thanks...

AMY-still luv ya girl, thanks for giving me the idea of calling Maes...well, Maes.  Also i said the word military 8 times in the space of 2 small paragraphs...

Anyway, im gonna go sleep, i have tonsillitis and im feeling as though death has eaten me...
