"State your business here, Ailuran. You are in our borders, don't you know? I could ask them, anytime, to bind you in chains and drag you into the dungeon. If not only for this friend you have here, I would've done that already." Kiara said sternly, placing her hand on Zarina's shoulder. "Allow me to speak to her and I will go. It wont be long, please." Matrius said.
"Let me guess, a plan to escape? 'Cause if so, I see no hope in that. Look at the warriors around you. They can shift and maul you two under my command if you make unnecessary actions." Kiara crossed her arms. "Kiara, he's my friend. Please, just give us time. It wont take long, really." Zarina reassured.
Kiara looked at the Lycan warriors. She hesitates for a bit before finally speaking. "Warriors, back into place. I can watch him myself." Kiara commanded and the warriors holding Matrius followed immediately. "Thank you, cryptic beauty." Zarina whispered to Kiara. Kiara nodded with a small smile on her lips. "Still gripping that nickname, nightingale? Anyway, anything for you. Go ahead, speak to him and make it quick. Our time here is limited. It will cause suspicion in the queen's eyes if we remain here for long." Kiara said and Zarina nodded.
As Zarina pulls Matrius aside to talk, she saw Dracyian, snooping around nearby. As Kiara saw him, he walked away. Kiara wanted to investigate but she knows she has to keep an eye on Zarina and Matrius. So, she brushed it off.
She pulled Matrius aside so that they can have their conversation. "Would you look at that? It seems like the chief huntress of the Lycans has a weakness. Somehow, only for you. If I only knew her weakness before, I could've killed her alread-" Matrius chuckled but Zarina gripped his wrist, tight enough for Matrius to flinch. "Enough stalling! We don't have much time. Just like what she said, what's your business here? Don't you see? Danger is around you. You're lucky that I found you. If you came at the wrong time, i'm sure you'd be locked in the dungeon too." Zarina said.
"Lexer helped me get here. He said he saw you cross their entryway. It's shocking to see you here in one piece! You could've died! Also, is Merlara with you?" Matrius asked. "That's what they're saying too! I don't know why I didn't die. The necklace is not with me to protect me but i'm still here, unharmed. I guess, let's just be glad about it. Also, Merlara? She's with me. She's currently locked in the dungeon but don't worry, she's under my care. And Lexer... It's blurry in my memory but I can remember seeing someone spying from the distance when I was being chased. Was it him? Anyway, it's cool that he's helping out. Give my thanks to him." Zarina said.
"I'm here to get you out of here. Let's go and plan." Matrius said, holding her arm. "Matrius, listen to me. I have a plan already and that's why i'm not going with you." Zarina pulled her arm away from his grip. "What? Hey, i'm giving you a chance to undo our mistake on the past plan." Matrius said. "You can't undo our mistake! It's already done and we can never undo it. We face its consequence, that's what we do. But as I face it, I plan something else and that's what I'm sticking with. All you have to do is trust me, get out of here with Lexer and don't get yourselves caught." Zarina said. "But-"
"Zarina, Matrius, let's get out of here! Some Lycans recognized me and they are after me now. Let's get going!" Lexer warned. "Get out of here, Lexer. Bring Matrius with you. I'm not going. Just trust me and don't worry!" Zarina held Lexer's arm. Lexer turned to Zarina. "How's Amaris?" He asked, looking vulnerable.
Zarina smiled. "She's under my care, don't worry. She's okay. Still dorky, as usual." She replied. "Good, please tell her that I wish her well and I... miss her. Also, let me tell you and give you something before we go. Someone back there in the city misses you like crazy." Lexer smiled, giving a gift to Zarina: a thin, gold ring bracelet. Simple yet stunning. Zarina took it and wore it. "Hey! Get back here! Get those two!" Someone called out from the distance, the Lycan warriors. Kiara shoots Zarina a warning look. Zarina turned to Lexer.
