Dear Mom,
I promise I'm not crazy. I'm just really upset right now.
Love,
Your Overdramatic DaughterThat was every thought running through my head at the moment. I was an emotional wreck. My mom doesn't know how to deal with something like this. Perfect solution, I just won't tell her.
As I walked in my front door I heard my mom in the kitchen. "Hey sweetie!" She said in a welcoming voice. I avoided her completely and walked upstairs. My mom was great just not right now.
I locked my bedroom door and sat on the floor curled up in a ball. I really didn't know popularity was such a big deal to Chloe. This was taking it way to far. Just the thought of it made me get up to close my curtains.
I heard a small knock on my door. "I have a surprise for you." My mom said in a soft voice. I didn't know how to respond, I knew my words, I just didn't know how to say them without letting her know I was upset. It was one of those times where you know you'll start crying if you open your mouth. I finally gathered the strength to just walk out the door and nod at her.
I followed her downstairs where she told me "Someone's here to see you." I opened the front door to find my old best friend/neighbor, Nick Dobbs, who I hadn't seen in years due to him moving to Arizona. I threw myself into his arms. My smile was extremely wide, the widest it had been all day.
"Hey Maddie." He said with a slight laugh. I pulled away and smiled even more. I missed him so much. I couldn't believe that he was finally back. "I missed you so much." He added. "I missed you too, Nick." I replied and I didn't think of Josh at all in that moment.
