I walked in carrying my dance bag that weighed down my left shoulder. I heard footsteps in Kenzie's room, more than usual. "What's making all the noise?" I shouted. Kenzie walked down the stairs, a brunette boy following. "Kenzie! You aren't allowed to have boys here alone." I said. "Relax, he's just showing me his new camera. This is Alex, he's in my class." She gestured at the boy.
"Nice to meet you."
I nodded and continued up the stairs.Homecoming was coming up in just two weeks and I knew exactly who I wanted to go with, Josh. Only one problem, he's missing and I haven't had much luck finding him. Even if I did find him, would he still want to go with me?
As I sat in my room on my phone Kenzie ran into my room. "Hurry up and get down here." She said. "Why?" I asked. "Don't ask just come." She retorted. I ran down the steps quickly to find Nick with a bouquet of flowers and poster that said "Can you picture us at homecoming?" with pictures of us forming a giant collage on the poster. I was surprised, but in a good way. I wanted this to be Josh's moment, but for a minute, I was glad it wasn't. I gave Nick a big hug and said yes. His nervous expression turned to a smile. I posed for a photo, taken by Alex, who was actually Nick's younger cousin.
Nick and I walked up to my room. "I think I found something unusual with Paige." He said. "What?" I asked.
"Well, she's in my gym class and when we were playing volleyball I realized she had a lot of bruises."
"That could be anything."
"Yeah I know, but it seemed unusual."
"I'll ask her about them."
