During the dark hours of the night, the club was quiet to quiet; it would normally have someone cleaning during the early mornings but not tonight. Something was wrong for this late night, but no one knew as they slept through the night.
I slept in Law's arms still as he held me as we slept the night away that was until the sound of a loud crash broke the silence making Law wake up which woke me as well.
"What was that?" I asked when I glanced up to look at him.
"I don't know, wait here" he said to me as he got out of bed pulling his jeans on before heading out of the room to check out the sound.
I slowly sat up from the bed as I grabbed a shirt and my jeans making sure I was ready if something was wrong. That's when I heard Law yell hearing something crash again; I rushed out of the room going to the main club spot until I stopped in my tracks as I gasped in horror with what I came to see.
It was Cora's body on the ground covered in blood and bruises, I rushed over kneeling down next to him to see if he was alive still; I checked for a pulse but I found none which made me frown sadly as I looked down at the ground. Suddenly the window from the office was broken making me look up to see Law being thrown from the office and hitting the floor hard making him groan in pain.
"LAW!" I yelled as I ran over to him helping him sit up in my arms.
"So, it's the little daughter of that marine general and here I thought I would have to hunt you down when you brought yourself to me" the voice of Doflomingo came to my ears.
I turned my head to look at him seeing him standing by the broken window office, seeing his sick smile on his face as he chuckled darkly covered in blood from what I could see. He jumped down from his office landing on the ground a few feet from me and Law.
"You god damn basterd" Law spoke as he tried standing up to protect me, but was already bleeding from the cuts I could see on his body.
"You know the rule Law, whoever breaks the important rule of betraying me get killed its as simple as that" Doflomingo spoke as he stood up to his full height.
"You killed Cora!! Your own brother!!" Law yelled out getting filled with rage as he looked at Doflomingo.
"That's what he gets for betraying me" was all Doflomingo said to Law.
Law growled as he got up with all his might, to charge at Doflomingo to attack him but that smile that widen on his face made me scared of what was about to happen to Law.
"Stop, Law!" I yelled out with fear.
But it was too late, Doflomingo grabbed Law's wrist making him stop in his tracks until he stabbed him in the side making Law scream in agony; my eyes widened in horror as I got up running towards Law wanting to help him. But Doflomingo suddenly slapped me hard across the face sending me flying to the ground letting my right cheek hit the glass on the ground making me hiss in pain.
"Guess you both will get your wish, being together in death though" Doflomingo said at us when he was ready to kill us both.
But out of nowhere Doflomingo was smashed away from Law, I brought my head up to see what happened seeing it was Kid with Killer beside him. Killer picked up Law over his shoulders as Kid ran over to me.
"What are you doing?" I asked as he brought me up from the ground.
"Saving your ass, now run!!" Kid said to me as we all ran out the back door of the club.
Into the pouring rain that was suddenly outside, the sight of Kid's car came into view seeing Wire and Heat waiting for us inside the car. I got into the back seat as Killer gave Law to me as he got in and Kid jumped in the front of the car closing the door.
"Drive!" Kid yelled to Heat making the car start as we drove away from the club.
I glanced back through the back window making sure no one was following us, before I looked down at Law who was holding his side from the stab wound. I ripped some of my shirt apart and slowly removed Law's hand as I placed the fabric on the wound making him hiss.
"Thank you all for helping but how did you guys know we needed help?" I said to them until asking on how they knew.
"Wire was on guard duty and he heard something and soon saw what was happening before he came up to the loft to tell us, we also warned the girls to get out as well so they'll be heading over to Bonney's place, we're heading to my real place in the city" Kid explained as he glanced over his shoulder to look at me.
"But won't he find you guys in those places?" I asked worried for their safety as well.
"No because we never told him anything about our lives outside the club that's another rule when you work there" Killer answered my question.
I nodded my head understanding that I didn't have to worry so much. About another minute passed until we stopped in a garage that had some apartment above it. The boys got out of the car, Killer helped me move Law out of the car as I crawled out as well; we made our way into the apartment above the garage as Heat put on some lights so we could see. Killer helped Law into a spare room lying him on the bed gently as I got the first aid kit to help him.
"Wire make sure the girls are safe and cover any tracks that we could have left behind" Kid ordered Wire wanting to make sure that Doflomingo never finds us.
Wire nodded his head as he headed out the door, I was busy in the spare room getting what I needed to heal Law from the wound. I placed some alcohol on some cotton balls and dabbed them against in wound to uninfected it; he hissed from the pain as he bit his lip for a moment.
"I'm sorry about Cora" I softly spoke when I glanced up at him.
"I know its not your fault, he knew what he was doing and he knew he was going to die because of it but....damn it! I should have done something more" Law spoke to me as he blamed himself for not doing more.
"Right now you need to rest and not blame yourself for this. We'll get Doflomingo one way or another I promise" I said to Law as I got a needle and thread out.
Law hissed again in pain when I began to stitch him up, as I stared at his wound by stitching it up I couldn't help but let silent tears fall without knowing until Law's hand touched my cheek wiping the tear away making me look up to him.
"Why are you crying?" Law asked in a soft voice.
"It just that, if I left things alone and not want to know who killed my father maybe things would have been better and maybe Cora would be alive and you wouldn't be hurt....maybe....maybe it would have been best.....if we never met at all" I spoke as I looked down as I finished the stitching letting more tears fall hating what I was saying but that's how I felt right now.
Suddenly Law pulled me close to him giving me a kiss on the lips taking me by surprise, but I slowly melted into the kiss; letting him kiss me gently as he held my face with one hand until backing away slowly to look at me.
"Even with all that has happened, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm glad I met you, you made me happy for the first time in my life; I wouldn't trade you for anything not even if I was given the world, I love you" Law spoke to me in a caring and soft tone as he looked into my eyes.
" I love you too" I said to him with a warm smile as I let the last tears fall, making him smile warmly at me as well as I held his hand in mine thanking that he was still alive and with me.
