Eiven watched Ember with a growing interest, he watched as she moved around the side of the ship uncertainly. She was out of her realm and she knew it, yet the girl had the gall to pull his own pistol out on him. If his crew knee of that incident they would have demanded her thrown off the ship. Eiven had only been with his crew for four years but he had earned their trust and respect, his men would do almost anything for him.
This put him at an impasse on what Ember ' s fate would be, originally he had considered passing her around to all the men, or bartering her for some new cannons, or maybe even just dumping her off at some port and wish her luck. Obtaining a ransom for her would be risking his men's lives unnecessarily. But now Eiven was actually considering keeping her on board for himself, this girl had some spunk and had managed to spark his interest.
Eiven thought back to their kiss in his cabin, she had fought him at first but then she had gave in to his kiss. He could tell no man had kissed her like that before, it seemed foreign to her the way she reacted. But she had enjoyed it, as much as he had. That conquest he decided would be his. His men's laugher snapped him out of his thoughts as he looked down to a few men cornering Ember, one especially too close.
"Get away from me!" Ember yelled her eyes wide with the realization she was once again outnumbered.
Four men were closing in on her and one had already trapped her against the railing. This big brute let one hand reach down and grab her backside, too which Ember responded with a slap in the face. The man stepped back stunned and all the men stopped as he grabbed her hand, his brown eyes flashing furiously.
Ember squealed out in pain from the grip on her hand but tried to compress her body down. All of the sudden her grip was released and the man had fallen down with a hard thud and Eiven was standing protectively in front of her with his pistol drawn.
"No one is to touch Miss Trent without my permission! Anyone who is seen doing so again will be flogged!" Eiven said lacing his voice with all his authority and a hint of his rage.
Without saying another word he reached back and grabbed Embers wrist and silently stomped his way back to his quaters. Once inside he lead her back to his bed and started to inspect her wrist. There was a slight purpleish hue to it now from where everyone had been grabbing it. She could only assume the brown eyed man had pushed it over its limits.
"I think it should be fine in a day or two, just relax in here for the rest of the day. I'll send some food down for you." Eiven said, a bit of his concern leaking into his voice " The crew should be calmed down by tomorrow, I would just keep an eye out for Jack. He's not one to accept no for an answer, but none of the others will touch you."
Ember just nodded her head and looked down at her hands now folded in her lap. Her eyes were swarming with tears and if he didn't leave now he was going to see her weakness. She had finally reached her breaking point today and then knowing that there was a high possibility that the "jack" man would try again?
Eiven stayed in his spot for only a few seconds after he spoke, waiting for her to say something but Ember wouldn't even look up. Only once he stood up and walked to the door did he notice the slight shake of her shoulders and the tears staining her dress. Fighting a rather intense battle with himself, he opened the door and left her by herself. If he had read this girl right, he knew she didn't want him in there in her moment of weakness.
