Once nightfall hit Eiven retired his crew to the bunks and took a moment to breath. His life before becoming a captain was nothing in comparison to sailing the open seas. The untamed wildness of the sea had always called to him, just like this girl was calling to him now. If Eiven believed in all the stories his crew told him, he would think she was a siren.

The way her black hair whipped around in the wind, her green eyes ever calculating. He wondered how she had taken too the young lad he had sent down with her food. Stepping down from the ships wheel he motioned for his first mate, Felix, to take his place.

"Going to check on her cap't?" Felix said with a twinkle in his eyes. "Tell her not all of us bite."

Eiven walked away with a smirk on his face, sly old man always had a joke. He was one of the first to join Eiven's crew, then helped to recruit others. Through thick and thin Felix had been there with a joke to lighten almost any mood. Once he reached his cabin door Eiven paused. Taking a deep breath he slowly opened the door but the room was silent. The moon shown through his window virtually lighting the whole room, he could see Embers small body curled into a ball and tucked underneath his covers.

Entering his room and silently closing the door, he had the debate of whether to slip in the bed beside Ember or to lay a couple blankets on the floor. Seeing as how she was already asleep, it couldn't hurt to just slip into to bed with her right? Eiven stripped down to just his pants and slid beside her almost instantly falling asleep.

Ember awoke to a firm heater snuggled up against her back. Although the presence felt comforting she jumped out of the bed and ran to the other side of the room staring at the man in her bed. Her suspicions were confirmed when she saw Eiven's face scrunch up in confusion as he opened his eyes.

"Come back to bed love, I don't bite." Eiven said, laying his head back down and shutting his eyes.

"Isn't there another place I could sleep?" Ember asked

"Not unless you want to sleep in the crews bunks." Eiven replied bluntly "I can assure you it's much better in here."

Embers face turned a pale shade of white thinking of sleeping near that Jack man, so instead of storming out she went and sat in the chair.

"Eiven I don't understand what I'm doing here." Ember had decided that after yesterday she would rather know her fate.

"Well right now your keeping a very tired captain awake." Eiven huffed out in frustration, sitting up and turning those Crystal blue eyes on her.

"No, I mean like why you took me. What was your purpose? If it was a ransom you could have gotten it that very day, but you took me instead. You haven't killed me yet, so I can only assume I have some sort of purpose here. But what is it?" Ember said, her eyes almost imploring him for answers.

Eiven met her gaze, bracing himself for her reaction when he explained his story. That never happened though, as soon as he opened his mouth he heard cannon fire. Both Eiven and e

Ember froze before both leaped up from their spots.

"Ember stay here, the ship is under attack and I don't want you getting caught in the crossfire." Eiven said in a concerned voice "lock the door when I leave."

He gave her one last look, handing her a small dagger out of his boot before he ran on deck to his crew.
