Tenebris POV

Have I been here before?

It hurts. Everything hurts.

Especially my mind.

I probably deserve this, what's the point in fighting back now?

Let me rest. Please. It hurts but it's quiet now. Quiet... It feels like I can't breathe but it's quiet.

I'm sorry Tommy. I should've thought it through a little more. Then maybe this could've worked out. Maybe you and your friends could've lived a little happier.

Oh, I hope Techno gave you your memory book Ranboo. I wish I could help you right now. If it was lost in the rubble, I hope I'll be able to help you find it.

Techno, I hope you aren't too mad at me. I apologize. For everything.

Please let me rest. Ple-

"Tenebris! Tenebris!"

I gasped and immediately felt some kind of liquid clog up my throat, making me choke and violently cough. My eyes were still closed, as if I was trying to stay in that silent, dark place. Actually, I couldn't pry my eyes open. Several sharp hits to my upper back made the liquid fly out of my mouth, making a small splattering noise in front of me.

Someone was supporting me, their arms helping me sit up. Wherever I was smelled like plants. Seemed familiar. Like... like... vines. Like Crimson. Crimson? Where am I?! I tried to lift my hands up to rub my eyes but I couldn't. It hurt too much, I couldn't move my legs. My, my head! I can't move!

"Schlatt, what's going on? Bad? Ant? What's going on?! You said the vines would heal them!" the voice near me said. They sound familar, like a dude. Who is Bad? Who is Ant?

Schlatt? What's Schlatt doing here?

30 Minutes Before || Third Person POV

Dream grappled the side of the narrow walkway suspended hundreds of feet up in the air, his legs limply dangling in the air. His head was spinning and ringing, but his line of vision was slowly coming back. His fingertips were white, his hands were aching as he shakily pulled himself up onto the obsidian floor. Dream looked down, noticing the lack of explosions. The TNT had stopped falling, the clouds of dust and debris beginning to settle down and reveal the demolished city. A gold crown shone through dust, followed by a barely-visiable wave.

"Dream, are you ok?" a faint voice echoed from the canyon, barely reaching Dream's ears.

"Yeah..." Dream shuffled through his inventory for an enderpearl and dropped it down into the slowly fading cloud of dust. He felt his stomach in his throat as he teleported down, nearly covering his mouth in fear he would vomit. His pounding headache didn't help either, the ache growing worse when he thought about what condition Tenebris would be. He had no idea where where they were.

Techno watched as Dream appeared nearby, flickering into view as purple particles flew around him. The masked man fell over, the hood of his cloak pulled down. His white mask was terribly cracked and Techno wouldn't be surprised if part of the ceramic mask fell off right then and there.

"Techno," Dream stood up, pulling his hood back over his head, "Get out of here before they catch you, I'll get Tenebris back at the cabin. I promise."

Techno glared, "Absolutely no-"

"GO!" Dream yelled, whipping his head in Techno's direction. He had lashed out, feeling unnaturally angry. Before Techno could respond Dream ran off into the cloud of dust, his dark green cloak flapping behind him. Techno kept his glare focused on Dream as he disappeared before he turned around to make sure no one was left. He trusted Dream but he wanted to go see Tenebris himself, it had been too long since he had last seen them. Techno was worried but he knew they would be alright.

Dream flipped over a rock and hopped into a hole that dropped into a cave. Dream looked to the left and ran around the corner, sprinting down the narrow hallway. Coming to the dead end, Dream stopped on his heel and his netherite pickaxe appeared his hand. In the blink of an eye, the stone wall in front of him was gone, revealing a small, secret room.

Tommy heard the sound of rocks falling and scrambled onto his feet, backing into the wall behind him. He wasn't hurt but his arms and head felt heavy and weary. His wide, blue eyes flitted to the motionless body in the middle of the room, a dark puddle of blood under their bruised head. The desk had been pushed forward when Tommy had dove over it, as the tip of his foot had caught onto the edge. The chair that Tenebris had been sitting in was broken underneath their body, broken pieces of wood scattered across the stone floor.

Tommy looked up at the source of light coming into the room and froze. His heart skipped a beat, sweat gathered on his forehead, his stomach churned. The silhouette of a man stood in the broken doorway, the glint of his white mask sparking fright within the boy with bloody fists.

Dream took one step into the room and looked down. He stayed silent, his gaze looking at Tenebris's bruised face and bloody clothes then back up at the horror-striken boy frozen against the wall. He walked forward and knelt down, looking at Tenebris's face. Blood was splattered and smeared across their scar ridden skin, dark purple bruises forming on their cheeks, jaw, nose.

"I'll put this the nicest way possible..." Dream pulled Tenebris into his arms and wiped the blood away from their black and blue face using his dark green cloak, gently cradling their small, seemingly lifeless body in his arms, "You fucked up."
