☆A/N: slight violence warning

"Techno, will you help me walk again?"

Tenebris slammed their glass down on the table, startling Techno. They pressed their lips together in pure frustration, their fingers threatening to break their glass cup. It was also the first time the Techno had heard Tenebris's voice in nearly 3 months.

Nearly half a year had passed by and Tenebris had been on bed rest the entire time. Tenebris's leg had been crushed during the explosion and the healing potion hadn't been able to fix it correctly, making walking or running incredibly painful and the healing process extremely slow. They had grown restless, their body itching to something, anything. Techno and Tenebris had returned to the rubble of L'manburg in search of Tenebris's black sword. They found it, but it had been shattered by the explosion, shards of the black metal poking out from within the old rock and wood. Tenebris went silent after the discovery, never leaving the warmth of Techno's room, only for meals and to occasionally take Eggo out for a ride.

"I don't know Tenebris, your legs still aren't fully-" Techno sighed and poked at his food.

"Please!" Tenebris's eyes went wide, their tone pleading with their friend, "I'm miserable! I can't take it anymore!" They hated every second of their bed rest, they wanted to get up and do something. They wanted to do something useful, not lay around all day like a sack of potatoes. Today was the day Tenebris had finally gathered the motivation to say something.

Ghostbur had come to visit two weeks ago, wanting to visit Tenebris. But they refused to come out of Techno's room when he came. As Techno tried to coax Tenebris out, they stayed silent. They had sat against the door, quietly crying into their hands while they blocked out Techno's comforting words. After that day, black splotches from their tears stained the wood floors and door. Ghostbur hadn't returned since then, Tommy and Tubbo advising him to not go back. Tenebris didn't reach out to Dream, leaving him in dark. He worried about them but Techno had informed him that they were alive.

While Tommy and Tubbo were busy rebuilding their city, Tubbo couldn't help but feel desolate. Tenebris never seemed to acknowledge him as their former "little brother" and it hurt Tubbo deeply. If leaving him on Philza's doorstep wasn't enough, Tenebris failed to recognize him when Techno had brought Tenebris to L'manberg. They had looked at the boy then looked away as if he was some random stranger walking along a deserted road. Tommy reassured his friend, telling him to leave Tenebris behind and in the past. Tommy had already decided that he would never forgive Tenebris, they had lied to him.

"Tenebris," Techno put his fork down on the table, fidgeting with the gold rings on his fingers, "You have to promise me that you won't hurt yourself ok? We can't risk you getting hurt again." Tenebris nodded.

~~~
Tenebris sat on the floor, their legs sprawled out in the snow. They waved their hands, trying to say that they need help to get up.
Techno glared at them, crossing his arms and looking away, "You said you wanted to learn how to walk. You aren't gonna learn by me carrying you everywhere,"
Tenebris tried to stand up but failed. They looked up at him with an angry glare, annoyed that they weren't able to get up theirself and that Techno wasn't helping them. Techno let out a heavy sigh and put their arm around his shoulders, pulling them to their feet. Tenebris gave him a small smile and took small steps as they used Techno's arm to balance theirself to walk to the stables.
"Hello Eggo," Tenebris quietly said, patting their horse's nose. Eggo softly snorted, pawing at the ground in anticipation to run around. Techno stood beside Tenebris as they put Eggo's saddle on just in case their legs would suddenly give out.
