Denver's POV (Alix)

I stood there looking at goon 1 and 2.

Muscles for brains looked at me with shock, Rambo looked guilty for some reason. Whatever the hell was going on, I was not in on it, and they did not look to be in a sharing mood.

I had no idea what had happened, it had happened so fast.

Xavier had been helping Joshua get some things from his locker a bit farther down the hall from mine, where I was putting my stuff in my locker.

Out of nowhere I heard raised voices, those I usually did not care about and shied from if possible. Then the commotion began. I heard yelling, then what sounded like a punch, a girly whine followed by what could only be described as a growl with the promise of death.

I had turned and saw Joshua on the ground holding his bleeding nose and Xodiac beating the actual crap out of some senior. If the beating did not do it, the kid looked to be ready to vacate his bowels on his own.

People gathered fast, chanting for the beating to continue. I tried to push myself through to get to Joshua, who was on the ground looking at Xodiac like he was a nude model doing poses just for him.

I could not get to Joshua, I was being pushed back by people and running into the middle was not an option with Xodiac's massive arm reach and violent behavior I would have been smashed back to the dark ages if he hit me.

Out of nowhere Sirius forced his way through the crowd from the other side. Like freaking Moses parting the waters he just made his way to Joshua and talked briefly with him before he, gentler than I had thought possible, talked Xodiac down.

The fight was over and people went about their business. No reason to stay, the show was over.

"This was a reckless thing you did, X. What if people found out?" I heard Sirius grumble lowly at Xodiac.

"Find out what?" I asked puzzled.

So, that is how we ended with me voluntarily speaking with Sirius.

"What are you talking about?" Sirius looked at me trying to look cool but I saw that glimmer of fear in his eyes. Fear? Why would the Hulk show fear to little old me?

"If you took the dumbbells out from your ears, maybe you'd understand what I said. Though the dumb part seems to be stuck in there for good."

I saw Xodiac hide a grin, but Joshua had no filter, he just laughed out loud, making the face Sirius already had on turn even darker. He scowled at me.

"I just stopped a fight, ok, Denver?"

"I saw that part, your highness, I was asking what you were talking about. Find out what?"

"That I have an anger issue and can't really control myself at times. I'd get kicked off the wrestling team if the coach found out," Xodiac interjected before Sirius got a chance to answer.

Looking at him and the way his muscles seemed to actually spawn more muscles while he just stood there, I could believe the anger issues.

"You ok, Josh? Did angry bird here pop you one?" I asked Joshua instead of acknowledging the other two in the conversation.

"My nose bloody hurts, but I'm good."

Bloody was the right term. He kept holding his head back to stop the bleeding.

"Actually, Wolfdaddy was defending me. Kevin tried his usual shit with me, but my champion here gave him a little temporary eyeshadow."

Sirius stiffened at something Joshua had said. Maybe he did not like that his buddy was defending the school poof. What did I know?

I knew Kevin had been beating up Joshua for ages because he knew Josh's parents were loaded, and Joshua was too weak to defend himself and normally just paid up. It was gratifying seeing him get a little elbow from karma. I could be thankful to Xodiac for that, and maybe Sirius for stopping it before it got out of hand.

"Fine," I smiled at Xodiac. "Thank you for helping him." He blushed slightly at my words.

"Yes, now get Tinkerbell some help before all his pixie dust comes out his nose," Sirius demanded of Xodiac.

With a roll of his eyes, Xodiac moved around Sirius and bent down picking Joshua up bridal style once more. "Ok, Princess, off to the nurse's office, again," he sighed and wandered off with Joshua in his arms, Josh looking at him with stars in his eyes.

"He'd better not need me to sleep at his place again tonight. I need my own clothes," I grumbled more to myself than to Sirius who was still standing there.

"I'd prefer that. I have shit to do tonight so I can't bring you food."

"Aren't you a charm school graduate."

"Jeez, woman, would it hurt you to be nice for a change?" He stuffed his hands in his pocket like he tried not to do something else with his hands.

"Suck it up, buttercup. You brought me food, I said thank you. It's not like you gave me a kidney or a diamond."

"Do you want a diamond or need a kidney?"

I once again kept my jaw from falling.

"Kidney no, but what girl doesn't want a diamond?"

"I'll keep that in mind and check the menus when I get food and see if they have diamonds."

I was about to say something probably nasty when a big arm was placed around my shoulder.

"There you are, we've been looking for you, we need to ask you about something for Saturday."

I looked up at Mischa and saw Claude stand a little away staring at Mischa with sad eyes.

"Villin," Sirius gritted out with clenched teeth. "We were talking here."

"Storm." Mischa hissed.

What the hell was up with those two? They had never budded heads like that in the past years.

Mischa turned his attention from Sirius like he was not there. "So, about Saturday..."

"What happens on Saturday?"

"It's her birthday, not that it's any of your business."

Whoa whoa with the testosterone!

Sirius looked a little surprised then he smiled a small, crooked smile and looked at me. His angry glare at Mischa completely gone, his grey eyes resting softly on me.

"Congratulations, is there going to be a party or something?"

"Yes, and you're not invited," Mischa spat at him and walked me away from the lockers and Sirius to join Claude.

Hi y'all.

Thank you for reading.

Well, Sirius got out of having to explain anything to Denver and Josh got another trip to the nurse's office. And a birthday? That can only mean trouble, right?
