Denver's POV (Alix)

Though I had just left the bathroom I ran back to it. I could not face my friends with tears down my cheeks and looking what I suspected was a combination of pissed, embarrassed and flustered.

There was one semi-drunk girl on her way into the bathroom when I got to it.

"Move it, skank," I hissed though she had done nothing to me. I was not in a place where manners had a chance in hell of winning over the turmoil in me.

She looked at me clearly offended but then her face turned soft. "Oh," she mumbled. "Come here." She grabbed my arm and pulled me with her into the bathroom and locked the door. She pushed me to sit on the side of the bathtub and rummaged through the cabinets like she owned the place.

Finally, she found what she had been looking for and turned to me and gently wiped my tears with a wet nap. "There much better."

I was in awe. A complete stranger at a party was being nice to me without knowing me or knowing what was wrong. That was new.

"What's your name? I'm Silver. And just don't begin with the jokes," she laughed.
I giggled while sniffling. "I'm named Denver, and we live in Colorado. If you think your name is bad..."
She held up her hands. "Point taken. You win this round."
"Do you want to talk about it?" she asked and sat down beside me.
"He kissed me," I whispered.

My lips were still tingling, and I could taste him on my tongue. I had no idea what kind of booze he had been drinking but it tasted like raw unfiltered crap, but he had also tasted of something fresh like spearmint or peppermint. Probably gum or toothpaste.

It was so conflicting. I had felt how my body had heated up when he had been so close to me. How my skin burned where he had touched me. His lips had felt soft to the touch even if his kiss had been forceful.

Why him?

I had never given it much thought who would be my first kiss. I did not really pay much attention to guys and had not had any real crushes. All I knew was that I would have liked to have chosen who would be my first by myself.

"It was my first kiss."
"Oh, I've been there. Was it not good? If you like him then it's all good. It can be overwhelming, but with a little practice..." she trailed off dreamily.
"I don't like him, and he didn't ask, the jerk. He's been chasing me all week for some reason. He's never noticed me before and now he chooses to kiss me out of the blue."
"No!" She turned fully and studied me intensely. She had the most beautiful grey eyes in a small face with delicate features and long, black hair falling over her shoulders covering some of her red dress. "What a douche."

I smiled at her. She was nice.

"Got that right. Calling him a douche is actually an insult to douches everywhere."

Silver laughed heartedly at that. "He shouldn't have done that, but look at you, you're beautiful. I can understand why he's interested."

Beautiful? How drunk was this girl?

"I'm not. I'm nothing special," I tried but she would hear none of it.
"Oh, yes you are. Those eyes, that shine of your hair. Your body in that dress." She wriggled her eyebrows. "Bow chicka wow wow."

I was speechless. Was she for real? Was she lesbian or something? I could not deal with the sudden interest in me. I had lived in comfortable obscurity and I preferred it like that. I was not special or beautiful and nothing could convince me otherwise.

"If you say so. But he shouldn't have kissed me like that."
"Who was it? I know pretty much everybody here, though I go to another school, and if he needs his ass kicked, I can arrange it. Trust me, my brother will definitely help, he's all muscles and he's got friends too," she said in a conspiratorial way and smiled deviously. "Just tell me and I'll push my brother and the dogs on his ass. He'll be dead meat in minutes."

I was debating if I should tell her. Sure, I wanted Sirius to get his ass kicked, though they would probably need a few more than Silver's brother and his buddies to take Sirius down. And then that nagging little voice in the back of my head kept saying I did not want that, I just wanted him to leave me alone. I did not want trouble, just peace.

"I don't think I should tell you, I don't want to be the cause of a fight."
"Ok, asskicking is off the menu" she nodded. "But tell me who he is, I'll make sure he doesn't bother you at least. Just stick with me and my brother and you'll be safe."

I sighed.

"Sirius. Sirius Storm."

The way she jumped up startled the shit out of me. She looked enraged.

"Oh, no he didn't," she almost yelled. "I know that dog is a man whore player, but she should know better than to kiss innocent girls against their will." Silver clenched her fists in rage. "I know he sticks his tongue and other parts in anything with a pulse that throws themselves at him, but this is not happening. Not on my watch."

Ok, she was pissed for some reason. Maybe she was one of his girls or an ex? I had no clue. All I knew was she was scary as hell and did not look like the nice person I had just met.

"It's ok. I'm not interested in him if he's your boyfriend or something. I'll stay away from him."
"He's not my boyfriend," she manically laughed. "He's my brother. And soon I'll be an only child."

Oh damn!

"Just follow me, I'll rip his balls and feed them to the cat, that will show him. Fucking dog!"

Determined Silver unlocked the door and dragged me with her from the bathroom and down the corridor back towards the party and what I could only assume would be yet another episode of me being the center of attention.

Hi y'all.

Thank you for reading.

Well, somebody is about to be able to sing a flawless falsetto unless Denver can avert that. Do you think Sirius deserves what he has coming or maybe he just needs a little time to realize his mistake? You know you want to weigh in. Let me know in the comments.

We all know what to do when we like something. Pop a vote it'll make Angela and myself happy.
