CHAPTER 30

Louis

"No!!! Max! Wake up!" I checked her pulse and it's a good thing that it's still pumping, but it's so slow. "Wake up, love. Please. Wake up, Max."

I kept on shaking her to wake her up. I'm crying hysterically now because I'm so afraid of what might happen. We just got together and now I'm losing her again. I can't afford to lose her again.

"Louis, help is here." Clay put her hands on my shoulder, reassuring me. People gathered around us and picked up Max. "She'll be fine."

The rescuers picked her up and put her inside the ambulance. I looked at the girls and they are crying but doing their best to hide it, they are indeed strong women, like Max.

"So, who's gonna be with the patient?" A man asked.

I went forward and said, "I'm her husband." Then I looked at Max's friends and nodded.

When I got inside the ambulance, a guy stepped inside as well. I'm not familiar with him. This is the first time I saw him.

I sat beside Max and held her hand.

"I'm Derek. You're Louis, right?" He asked without removing her eyes on Max. He has this slightly smile on his face while tears are flowing down his face.

I nodded and said, "Yup. I believe we haven't met."

"We haven't. I'm Max's friend ever since I can remember and you know what, she always talks about you. I know she loves you." Derek said. "You should be strong for her and the baby. Okay?"

"Thank you, lad." I told him. He gave me a weak smile.

The ride to the hospital felt so slow. The time feels so slow. I am so scared of what might happen. All throughout the ride, nurses are monitoring her vitals and gave her oxygen.

They got Max out of the ambulance first and when I stepped outside, I noticed that we are not in a hospital. I looked around and this looks like a mansion, bigger than ours.

I turned around and saw Miranda went out of the car and gave me reassuring smile.

I went to Derek and asked him, "Where are we? Is this a hospital?"

He shook his head and answered, "Nope. This is The Camp's quarters. Massive, right?" This is huge! The place looks like a very modern mansion. This is five times bigger than our mansion. "They have everything inside. They have their own hospital."

Miranda went to me and gave me a hug. When she pulled away, she tapped my back, "Come on inside. I already asked my girls to pick up your mates. They're gonna be here soon."

We went inside the mansion and to their hospital. We waited for any doctor or nurse to come out but they didn't. So we had no choice but to wait.

"HEY! WHERE ARE YOU BRINGING—— LAD!!!!!" I heard a familiar voice exclaimed and when I turned around, I saw my voice and Liam was the one who's talking.

"What happened to you?" Zayn asked me looking so worried. "And where the heck are we?"

"These girls forced us to be here!!!" Niall told me as if he's a kid getting bullied by girls.

"GIRLS!" Miranda exclaimed. We all looked at her and she's glaring at Max's friends.

"What??? These boys are so hard-headed!" Keith said and just rolled her eyes. "Huge guys, yet scaredy-cat."
