What was he thinking? Liam had just bailed on the best date he had, ever. It even beat every date he had with Hayden, though there weren't very many good ones. He just couldn't get the fact that he might be doing it to please everyone out of his head and he didn't know why. Everything about the night screamed that he likes Theo, but why did his feelings change so suddenly?
Walking up to his front door after running home, Liam got his house key out before his phone buzzed in his front pocket. Expecting it to be Theo or Lydia, Liam groaned before pulling it out. Turns it, it was Scott. He had called Liam a few times but Liam must've been running when it happened. Deciding to call his alpha back, Liam expected a lecture.
"Liam. Liam, are you okay?" Scott's voice asked sounding worried and urgent.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Why? What's going on?"
"Stiles and Lydia disappeared. They were with Corey and Mason but then a bit later, they were gone. There phones go straight to voicemail and there's no sign of them."
"I'll be to your place shortly," Liam answered Scott as he pocketed his keys and whipped around. He began to run, picking up pace rapidly as he ran.Theo had managed to stop crying but he still remained seated on the asphalt of the parking lot with his eyes closed and head resting against the metal of his truck. As he sat calmly, footsteps slowly approached him. Expecting it to be Liam, the chimera just ignored them and acted like they weren't there. That was until he felt something cold touch his forehead.
Theo's eyes launched open as he stared directly at Monroe who had a pistol held directly to Theo's forehead, finger on the trigger.
"Stand up," she spat at him causing the chimera to stutter but rise slowly. "Keep your hands up. I don't want any funny business." Obeying, Theo raised his hands as well before he was standing up with his palms forward and his fingers level with his shoulders.
"What are you doing here?"
"Hunting. What else? Now walk. There's a van on the other side of your truck with the side open. Get in and someone will tie you up. If you struggle, I'm putting a bullet right between those pretty little eyes of yours." Before Theo could try and talk his way out of it, Monroe nudged the muzzle against his head causing his to start walking around the front of the truck.
Just as the hunter has said, a van was sitting with its side door open. Walking to it, Theo's face contorted. "Stiles? Lydia?" Without warning, Theo felt something hit him hard. Monroe had bashed him upside the head with the handle of the gun. Falling forward, Theo quickly climbed into the van where two men met him. One had a gun to Lydia's temple and the other had bindings. He knew they would pull the trigger if he didn't comply.
Feeling himself become bound, Theo felt something cold go across his hands. Looking behind him, metal gloves had been placed on his hands. Probably to prevent him trying to cut his way out of the ropes that bound his hands together. A cloth as forced into his mouth before it was tied off behind his head, stopping him from being able to talk. He walked right into this happening.Arriving at the McCall house, Liam panted as Isaac, Malia, and Scott walked out of the front door. "Have you heard from Theo?" Scott asked the beta, watching his face change.
"I did something stupid. I left him at the restaurant. Why? You can't reach him either?"
"Nothing." Scott tossed his phone to Liam to show the calls that were attempted with no resolution. "Meaning whatever happened to Stiles and Lydia probably happened to him, too."
"Ghost Riders?"
"No. They agreed never to come back here again. Plus, their phones go to voicemail so they still exist. Isaac, get ahold of Derek. Malia, call your dad. We're going to need as many people as we can for this." Scott walked towards the beta, placing his hand on Liam's shoulder. "We need you to try and pick up on Theo's scent. You guys are closer meaning his scents are going to be a lot stronger for you. And I mean a lot stronger. Can you do that?"
"Yeah. I just have to get back to the restaurant."
"I'll take him." Malia walked up behind Scott, placing her hand on his lower back. "I have to get Peter and Derek from the loft anyways. It's nearby."
"Go," Scott said as he gave her the keys to the Jeep. "Be fast. And careful. Something tells me Monroe might be behind this."
Quickly, the two rushed to the Jeep and climbed in. Going as fast as possible, Malia races to the restaurant and dropped Liam off. "I'll get the others. You get his scent and meet us back at Scott's. His truck is still here and he probably dropped his keys. He's smart enough to do that for you."
Before he could argue, Malia raced off leaving the beta alone in the almost deserted parking lot. Moving towards the truck, Liam kicked something on the ground that jingled. Looking at his feet, Malia was right. Theo's truck keys were on the ground. Liam climbed in and gripped the steering wheel as he tried to get Theo's scent. It wasn't working. Annoyed, he slammed his head into the wheel before fidgeting with things in the backseat. That's when Liam grabbed the one thing that was going to help him.
Liam pulled one of Theo's lacrosse jerseys from the floorboard and just smiled. "God I'm so happy you're a messy person." Planting his face in the jersey, Liam took a whiff and instantly caught the scent and instantly knew which way to go. Pulling his phone out, he called Scott. "Scott, I have the scent. I'm going to follow it before I lose it. Theo left his keys and I have his truck. I'll send my location when I get there."
"Okay. Malia is almost back and Parrish said he can help us, too. Send the location and wait, no matter what happens. Promise?"
Liam struggled for a moment. Scott knew him too well. "I promise." With that, he hung up and threw his phone into the passenger's seat before starting the truck and driving off. He followed the scent quickly, driving as safely as he could and as fast as he could without drawing too much attention.
