"Christen?" Tobin hummed from her side of the bed, lazily playing with Christens hair while Christen laid half asleep on the older girls chest.

"Yeah baby?" Christen replied, sighing contently at the way Tobin was braiding her thick hair, working her way through Christen's curls. Tobin wouldn't admit it to anyone else, but her favourite part of being with Christen was the chance to be soft and vulnerable, to feel like herself.

The longer Tobin looked down at Christen, the more she wanted to utter the words 'I love you' but she knew that it was a little soon. This weird relationship hadn't been going for more than a month, well a little longer if you count the start with Christen's denial, but every time Tobin saw the sparkle in Christen's eyes she had to fight the urge to just blurt out those three words.

"Tobs?" Christen asked, noticing the silence that the brunette had given her despite being the one to ask the initial question.

Tobin shook her head, waking herself and dragging herself from her daydream, "Sorry, I don't know where I just went," She laughed with a sigh, she knew exactly where she had gone.

"What did you want?" Christen asked, rolling herself onto her back so she could look up at her girlfriend, wow she was beautiful. Christen felt her cheeks flush gently as Tobin smiled softly at her, appreciating the younger woman for every second that she had.

"Oh right, yeah. When do you have to meet with the coach?" Tobin asked, remembering the conversation she'd had with Christen yesterday, although not in its entirety. Christen had taken Tobin's advice, she went and spoke with the coach of the college team, he shared Tobin's enthusiasm upon hearing Christen utter her last name. He didn't care that she'd missed the start of pre-season, or the fact she hadn't played a match in over six months.

Christen looked up at her girlfriend for a moment, curious as to why she was on this specific thought path, but relieved it wasn't something more serious, like 'I love you.' Christen was sure Tobin had said it accidentally about a month ago, but neither of them had brought it up since. "In about an hour, why's that?" She finally replied, reaching up to grab Tobin's hand before bringing it down and placing it against her lips, placing a soft kiss to her knuckles.

"Just wanted to know how much longer I had left to look at you," Tobin answered, a soft grin spreading on her lips as Christen rolled her eyes playfully.

"You're lucky you're cute, or I would cringe," Christen answered, sitting upright on the bed so she could get a better look at her girlfriend.

Tobin felt her lips involuntarily curl upwards as Christens dark eyes met hers again, everything about this woman was perfect. All of her stray hairs, her sleepy eyes, her soft skin. "I still remember the first time I saw you...when I wasn't drunk," Tobin eventually let out, placing one of her hands on Christens cheek, her touch so soft Christen could feel the nervousness through it.

"Is that so...tell me about it?" Christen responded, leaning into Tobin's hand, relishing the closeness.

"I uh, actually sort of have a thing planned. You'll have to wait 'til after practice," Tobin answered, her cheeks blushing a deep red as she stumbled through her words. Christen shook her head softly, loving how vulnerable Tobin was with her. If anyone had seen Tobin on the street they'd have thought she was a big tough athlete of some description, but to Christen she was the softest most pure being.

"I'll be waiting patiently my girl," Christen answered, twitching her eye at her chosen pet name. Was that going to be too much too soon? Then again, she wasn't the one to accidentally say 'I love you' she reasoned.

"That was cute," Tobin responded, pulling Christen out of her thoughts. "Kiss me until you have to get ready," Tobin added, leaning in closer to the younger woman. Christen had no qualms with this request, in fact she was just about to suggest the same thing.
