Chapter 14

Newts POV

After lunch Alby made me sort out the people who were disagreeing and arguing in the Glade and to say the least it was exhausting. As I walked over to the Medjack hut to find Y/n I saw Y/n running over to the kitchen. she was beautiful but I had to get my priority's in order as she was a hell of a distraction and I could lose her if I didn't stay on top of my work and I was sure I didn't want that.

'Y/n' I shouted, her head turned to me and I ran over to her. She had a huge grin which couldn't stop me from smiling 'where do you think your going I was looking for you'

'well you found me' she said, I laughed 'are you hungry?' I asked, as on queue her stomach rumbled 'ill take that as a yes' she laughed. Her laugh was amazing it made you want to make her laugh all the time. 'Newt snap out of it' Y/n was now clicking in front of my face. oh shuck I was staring at her, I have to quit that I cant fall for her especially not with all the work going on.

'come on dummy lets go get some food' we walked over to Frypan and he gave us our dinner 'Thank you Frypan' Y/n said.

She was so sweet, Newt stop. I internally slapped myself. we walked over to the table we sat at in the morning. Theo and Minho was already there and Gally was still in the queue for the food.

'hello you two nice to see you kinda was depressing at lunch without you guys' Y/n stated with a giggle I couldn't help but feel bad if I wasn't so caught up in my work I would have had time to sit with her especially with the fact that any shank could have tried to move on her while no one was around.

'love I'm sorry I should have been there' I gave her a little smile 'oi blondie don't worry about me I'm fine' she said while nudging me. I couldn't help but smile my girl would always put on a courageous face and that's why I was so drawn to her.

Me and Y/n sat done talking to the group. 'Hey hermono how was you first day with the job trials?' Theo asked I couldn't help but lift my head up from my plate to hear what she was gonna say.

'it was alright don't feel like Slicers are meant for me though' she looked at me like she knew what I was thinking I didn't want her being a Track-hoe the boys wouldn't take there eyes of her when she was picking the weeds and I think she noticed how I reacted to them.

'Maybe you should stay with the Medjacks' I stated with my jaw clenched 'you are definitely not being a Track-hoe especially if I'm not there' I couldn't help but get angry at the thought of her there alone with all those boys around her.

Y/n grabbed my hand and my heart started to beat faster. she knew exactly what to do to calm me down and I think she knew why I was so raged at it. 'i know Newt don't have to tell me twice' she said giving me a little grin.

Minho and Theo couldn't help but giggle at my reaction 'why I thought she would be great being a track-hoe' Minho said of course it would be Minho to do so he loves to wind people up. I sat there silently and I think Minho got the Jist of it. 'Ahh I see' he said while winking at me the shank could definitely read me like a book I guess that's what you get for being stuck in here for three and a half years with him.

'mhmm yeah so Y/n tonight Minho, Gally and I are gonna have a little party in the woods you know you should come it will be fun' Theo said changing the topic.

'Oh why not got to have a bit of fun her isn't that right' she said giving them a wink 'Newt?'

'oh why not just to let you know though if we get caught I aint helping you get away with it this time' i said while looking at Minho and Theo they had a record of throwing little parties and getting drunk as shuck and doing stupid clunk last time Minho and Theo ran in to the homestead shouting completely naked what a laugh that was. I could help but chuckle to myself.
