Chapter 17

I still haven't gone to school I just haven't felt like it. Robby had gotten out of Juve he today. And there was a court thing today about why there should be the All Valley Tournament. It was canceled because of the fight that happened at the school. The council people put it back on and everyone was excited.

Now it was a few days later I was getting ready for something. A long time ago around when I was about 7. My family and I came here to LA and went to a zoo. My brother and I had this box we put stuff in, we buried it right outside the fence of the zoo. Today I was going to unbury it. I had skinny jeans, a hoodie, and boots on. I put gloves in the pocket of my hoodie. I had a small hand shovel and I had one bag of soil that I put in my car. The box was kind of big almost like a treasure box you could say. I drove to the zoo and went around and walked near the fence. I knew exactly what tree the box was buried by. The furthest corner of the fence there was a tree right by it, that's where the box was. As I'm walking I hear the fence moving I look over and see Hawk, Kyler, and Tory. Also one other person coming through the fence, Robby. He looks up and sees me. I continued walking down the small hill, but Robby comes over to me.

"Max..." He says. I see Hawk, Tory and Kyler all look over to see where he had gone. I saw Tory roll her eyes. "What are you doing here?" Robby asks.

"Stuff. What are you doing here...with them?" I ask.

"Well I kinda joined Cobra Kai." He says that and I just look at him. I continue walking.

"Screw you Robby!" I yell.

"What's with the shovel?" Tory asks.

"None of your business." I say. I keep walking until I see it, the tree. I walk over to it and start digging. After a make a small hole I hit something, the box. I smile. I continue digging it out. I could tell all four of them were watching me. I didn't care. I dug for about 10 minutes until the box was unburied enough that I could take it out. I take it out and wipe it off with a rag I had brought. I opened the soil and poured it in the hole I dug then I grabbed the box and started walking past them all.

"What's in the box?" Hawk asks.

"Stuff." I answer. He steps in front of me. "Can I help you?" I ask.

"Show is what's in the box." Tory says.

"It's nothing important really." I say. I try to walk away but Tory grabs my arm.

"Tory..." Hawk says. She lets go of me.

"Wait...that's THE box?" Robby asks.

"Yes now leave me alone please." I say walking past them. I could hear them talking behind me.

"What's the box?" Hawk asks.

"I shouldn't say." Robby says. I make it to my car and open the trunk and place the box in the trunk. I hear someone run up to me, Hawk.

"What?" I ask.

"Can I please see?" He begs.

"It's nothing cool I promise." I say. I turn away from him but he grabs my hand and pulls me back. Our lips only centimeters apart.

"I miss you." He whispers. I'm don't say anything I just look from his eyes to his lips. He starts leaning in but I quickly push him back.

"No! You are not the person I thought you were! You are an asshole! Leave me alone!" I yell. Slamming the trunk closed. I get into my car and start it. Hawk moves out of the way, he was sad and I could tell. But I didn't care. I backed out of the parking spot and drove away. Later that night I get a text from Sam.

'Hey Miguel and I had an idea, we want Miyaji-Do and Eagle Fang to be one. Could you come over?' The text said.

'Yeah of course let me just finish up my laundry really quick and I will be on my way.' I reply. I had just gotten my clean laundry out of the dry and started folding it. Once I finished it I got in my car and drive to Sam's.
