Cobra Kai : Hawk Love Story

Chapter 3

It was now a couple days later, I was going to the little shop again. When I pulled in, I looked at the other signs. When I saw one of them my heart sank 'Cobra Kai' I gulped and got out of my car. I went over to the doors of the dojo and opened them and walked inside. There I saw Miguel and Johnny. They both turned their attention towards me.

"Hey Max, looking to learn karate?" Miguel asks me.

"No, I was just looking. I used to do karate but I don't anymore." I say, my voice shaking a little. When my father had gone back to Cobra Kai, he had stopped teaching my brother and I. My brother and I had swore we would never do karate again, unless we really had to. "Uh so anyway, how about dinner tonight?"

"Sure I'm in." Miguel answers. Miguel and I both look at Johnny, he sighs and nods. I leave and go back and sit in my car. I hoped maybe Johnny could change Cobra Kai for the better. I was also wondering why he would bring Cobra Kai back.

I drive back home and go lay in my bed. Tomorrow was the first day of school, I wasn't going to go, I already told the principle and he said that was okay and to come whenever I felt like it. Then I had realized I had only gone over to the strip mall to get snacks and I didn't even get snacks. I was going to go back over there tomorrow and get some. I got out of bed and went to the living room, I opened the sliding glass door and go sit on my chair that I have on the small patio I have. I grab my drawing book and start drawing. I draw a lot when I'm bored or stressed out. I can draw pretty well, I draw roses a lot. I've drawn Sam and Robby a couple times. Now I was drawing a fairy. I usually draw the first thing that comes to mind. My stomach grumbled. I stand up and go inside, I ate some leftovers from the lunch I had yesterday.

Now later, I was getting ready for dinner with Miguel and Johnny. I leave my apartment and go to the restaurant we were meeting at, I was the first one there. I got a table and not long after Miguel sits down next to me.

"Hey" he says taking off his jacket. Then Johnny sits down across from me.

"Order what ever you guys want, I'm paying" I say, they both nod, we all look at the menu and the waiter comes over. We order our drinks and food and she takes the menus. "So you guys asked me what I was doing here and I think I should tell you." I told them everything, when I was finished they were both shocked.

"Oh my gosh Max I had no idea, I'm so sorry" Miguel says. Johnny still looked shocked, probably about the Kreese part.

"I-I'm so sorry Max" Johnny stutters. The waiter brings over our food and we all eat in silence. Then after eating I paid and noting else was said. We all left and I went back to my apartment.

Next day, it was dark out again. I was driving to the shop. I arrive and go inside grabbing quite a few things. I pay for it all and then start walking back to my car. I hear a familiar voice from behind me.

"Max?" The voice said. I turn around, Daniel LaRusso. Or as I used to call him Danny. My face lights up.

"Danny!" I go over to him and hug him. He hugs back tightly. We pull away from the hug, I motion towards to Cobra Kai dojo "So I'm guessing you saw that" I say, he sighs.

"Yeah, I can't believe he would bring it back after everything." He looks over his shoulder at the dojo and then looks back to me. "So what are you doing here, do you still do karate?" He asks. I sigh.

"Well I knew this day was coming where I would have to tell you, since I already told Johnny." He looks at me confused. "7 years ago my father kicked me out, I've been living here ever since. After my mother passed, dad got back into the Cobra Kai way of karate, and that was the only thing that mattered to him. John Kreese was the one teaching him. My father said I was in the way and so here I am. I do not do karate anymore, and I will not unless I really have to, no fighting. I may use it to practice if I feel like it." Daniel was shocked by what I said.

"He kicked you out?" He asks, I nod. "John Kreese?!" He more yells than asks, I nod again. He pulls me into another hug. "I'm so sorry Max."

"It's okay, I think it was for the better, I mean if that didn't happen I wouldn't be here right now. I'm doing good on my own." I answer.

"Hey what do you say you come over for dinner tomorrow night. I think Sam would be happy to see you." Daniel smiles. I hesitated at first. Sam and I haven't talked in years.

"Uh sure, that would be great." I softly smile.

"Alright then here is the address." he gives me the address. "I'll see you tomorrow." We both smile, I go to my car and drive to my apartment. When I get there, I put my snacks away and go take a shower. Letting the warm water rush down my body. It felt good getting that off my chest, telling Danny and Johnny. I get out of the shower and put some pjs on, I go into the living room and pick up my phone 'Missed Call From Sam' I look at my phone confused. Then I get a text from Sam

'Hey my dad just told me about your dad and everything, I'm so sorry. I'm happy that you are coming for dinner tomorrow, it will be nice to see you. I'm sorry we drifted, I know that was mostly my doing. But I've missed you. See you tomorrow!'

I smile. Sam was excited to see me. I was excited to see her too.
