Chapter 1: Drinking pure gold

Pierces Pov

I felt wrong to be hooked on her arm having her guide me through a tangled mess of suits. She looked like an empress in her new gold flowing dress that hugged her perfectly chiseled frame. A warm smile played on her face, but I couldn’t figure out if it was real or not. I wore a causal monkey suit with a blue tie, “to match your eyes,” Aileen had said in the store.  I held a whisky in my hand, it tasted like heaven and I could guess it was expensive; I might as well have drunken pure gold.

I tensed as I saw a man come at us, most people at the party would glance or nod in acknowledgement of us, but no one came directly up to us to talk and it made me nervous. He had a burly build, but his body had aged and his hair had become streaked with white, but his d#uche-stache was still a dark brown, his suit was white with fancy pointed shoes, and he wore more rings on his fingers than most women would dare to. My instincts told me he was basically a major d*ck.

“Dad,” Ail chirped, my eyes widened at this and I hid my shock with a decent swig of my gold.

“I didn’t know you were bringing a guest,” he said in a demeaning voice.

“I figured you wouldn’t mind,” Ail retorted, “Dad meet Pierce.” I held out my hand and it was met with a firm grip from her father’s beefy fingers.

“Of a good family I’d assume,” I wasn’t dumb, I knew he was asking for last name, but I wasn’t letting that bull loose. Due to my silence, he gave his daughter a puzzled look. Thankfully we were interrupted.

“Ah Rupert, I’ve missed your gatherings,” a shill voice sang.  Ail froze on my arm and went ghost white. While Rupert, I’ll assume as her father’s name, scowled.  I rubbed Ail’s back trying to calm her.  The lady was middle aged wearing a tight white dress that showed her sagging b%BS all too well. She struggled in sky high snake skin stilettos which she matched her snake skin purse.

“You aren’t welcome here Elaine,” Rupert said firmly.

“Well you know me; I couldn’t resist all the fun,” she turned to Ail now, “and is this who I think it is? Little clumsy Aileen, crawled back to Daddy did you?” Ail’s grip on my arm got so tight I was losing circulation, nothing would calm her.

“Get out,” Ail hissed. I swear her body had started to shake.

“Don’t you miss me? No? How about your real mother?” she sighed, “well honey I may not have been the better mother, but your dad seemed to think I was a better $ex toy.”

And with that Ail gave her one to the jaw so quickly I didn’t have time to stop her. The sagged snake skin lady fell to the concrete pool side of Rupert’s house. Blood started to flood the floors and dripped right in the pool causing a sheer red whisk to spread in the water below.

“You little b*tch!” she shrieked, “You’ll pay for that!” but before the ghastly women could find her feet I carried Ail down the foyer and up the stairs, straight to her room.

“I can’t believe she’s back, oh god, I can’t believe she’s back, oh god,” Aileen chanted as she rocked herself back and forth in the corner of her bedroom. “We need to leave, oh my god! Where will we go?” she started to say her voice only a whisper now.

I crouched next to her and picked her up off the floor, I took her to her bed and lay her down in my lap. I slowly rocked her, whilest coaxing her to hush. “You’re safe Aileen, you’re safe my love,” I told her, “you will always be safe with me around, that b*tch can’t touch you.” With that I kissed her forehead, “and how about your Dad? He treated her as if she was moldy chewing gum stuck on the bottom of his Italian suede shoes.” This seemed to cheer her up a bit, so I finished her off with a soft kiss, which was interrupted by a knock on the door.

Before I’d even opened it Rupert barged in, “How is she?” he asked me.

“Shocked I guess,” I shrugged playing dumb.

“I don’t remember her being able to slug a person like that,” He smiled to himself, “you’ve obviously heard all about her little disownment awhile back?”

I nodded, “Vaguely,” I tread carefully not quite knowing how much Ail wanted her Dad to know about us.

Ail looked up then, “what was she doing here Dad,” she demanded.

“Relax honey I learnt my lesson from the divorce I want that women around less than you do,” he chuckled, “she was only here for…unfinished business.”

Ail gave out a sigh of relief. “You gave her quite a hit though it’s a good thing you’re…friend here was able to pull you away,” Rupert narrowed his eyes. “It was also lucky you knew right where to bring her,” I knew he had gotten suspicious by the way he now glared at me. “What’s your last name again boy?” he demanded and I couldn’t answer.
