United Again

{The Next Morning}

You land on the balcony of the Osborn penthouse, which Louis moved back into a couple years ago. You enter the lounge area and see nobody, just the same decor as before. You wonder where your friend is.

You: Louis?

You continue looking around and see a mirror shattered. On the other side of it is a dark hallway, and you know where it leads to.

You run through, seeing the old lab of the Green Goblin. You see all the old gadgets Norman and Louis had, and even see the open chamber where the Goblin serum would be gassed onto a subject. It was recently used.

You: Oh God...

You run out of the lab and back onto the balcony. You look around at the skyline, until your spider-sense goes off.

You leap up but The Goblin still grabs you as he flies on his glider. You already know it's Louis. The two of you fly through the skies.

You: Louis!

Louis: Look who decided to stop by for once.

His voice sounded a bit Goblin-like. You assume the serum was getting to his head.

You: Let's talk! I need to tell you something.

Louis: There's nothing to talk about, Spider-Man!

He retracts his signature arm-blades, but before he can slash, you activate your nanobot spider-suit and avoid the attack. You kick yourself away and fall towards the street, swinging down into the city.

Louis follows on his snowboard-esque glider. He throws pumpkin cylinders that turn into razor bats. You sigh upon hearing them behind you.

You: I hate those things.

You run along the side of a building and shoot a sonic blast from your web shooters, disabling the projectiles and also disorienting Louis a bit.

You swing up onto a rooftop and land. You stand tall, awaiting Louis who soon joins you there. He gets off his glider where it then retracts into a smaller form that fits in his pack.

You: Louis...think for a moment. Your grief...it's giving the Goblin control.

It was always known that the serum Norman and Louis used is imperfect. In Louis's case, the sadness and grief of losing his family is making the Goblin side of his personality resurge.

Louis doesn't reply, and takes out his sword. He brandishes it, and you shake your head.

You: All right...

Louis charges you and swings his sword, but you evade the attack and punch him in his abdomen. He thrusts the blade again, but you dodge and counter with a jab to his face. Louis stumbles back, and you roundhouse kick him.

He lays on the floor with his head down. You are saddened as you remember the time you first fought him years ago when he first donned the Goblin persona.

You: Louis...please—

As you walk over to him, Louis slams a pumpkin grenade on the ground which emits a flash. You are blinded, and Louis takes the time to sweep your feet and send you to the floor.

You quickly recover, but Louis is quick enough to slash you across the chest with his sword, scraping the nanobot armor. He then does a spinning kick that sends you flying several yards back and you land near the railing. You look up, and Louis is already above you holding the tip of his sword at you face.
