Everyone was throwing themselves on the dance floor. I had some fun time with Luras who was sleeping in the loud noise. It was so good to have him on my lap while he silently slept, not sobbing with eyes tightly closed.

At times he searched for my fingers and then made a smile. I loved it when he rolled his lips cutely. Adalyn was sitting beside me with sleepy eyes. She was completely drained after a heavy fight with Hayden.

I saw that bitch who was doing her best to provoke me. She was staring at Abir who was busy with his clients, friends and close cousins. As I was only interested in Luras I didn't join their talks but sensed Abir's eyes on me and that made me blush.

"Who's that woman?" Adalyn asked, pointing towards Jenny.

"Abir's business partner." That's all I said and now I know she's not even his business partner but an unwanted guest here.

Adalyn began, "I might just explode if she doesn't stop glaring at you, Mish. When she's not trying to kill you with her eyes, she's striving to get Abir's attention. Which isn't working. He's too focused on you. That's probably why she wants to kill you. She's not happy here."

"She is interested in him. Leave it. I'm not interested in catching a fight."

I started eating my red velvet cake with vanilla ice cream. I really wanted to punch Jenny but at the same time not spoil my reception. I'll deal with her in private.

"It's so beautiful to see him sleep peacefully." Adalyn said and even before she could her sentence Luras started to cry. "I expected." She uttered and carried him from him. Okay! That really made me want for a baby who I can just hold on to me itself and never be placed in a position to give the baby to someone.

When Adalyn found a place to make her child drink milk, I quickly walked with her to my nearby room. It was only Adalyn and me there until Jenny arrived. I knew she would come.

She was extremely wasted. "Nice top," said Jenny, a brittle smile on her face.

My mouth curved, remembering saree turned into a top. "Thanks."

"It goes well with your heels."

"I'd have to agree." It will be really awesome on her face as well.

I closed the room and took a step closer to Jenny, leaving Adalyn to feed her baby boy pleasantly. I could tell from their sour expression that this would be far from a pleasant conversation.

"I'd give you a round of applause for playing too well, but then I might drop my glass," said Jenny.

I felt my brow crease. "A round of applause to me? Thanks."

She took a sip from her filthy drink. "I've seen women pull all kinds of crap to try manipulating Abir into putting a ring on their finger. He never did it. Nope."

Ugh. "You really want to do this?"

"He always saw through their bullshit," she went on speaking trash. So, yeah, she must really want to do this. "But you, Mishti? You fooled him good. You made him walk down a fucking aisle. How? I've got to know how you did it."

"Do you really believe I manipulated him into marrying me? Honestly? Because if so, you don't truly know him. Abir isn't someone who can be played."

"There's a first time for everything. He went by something you did but I'm sure there's a day for you to taste the bitterness."

"You can't quite accept that he cares for me, can you? Care means love and affection here." I felt the need to explain to her.

She snorted. "There isn't a single soul on this Earth he cares for. Not one."
