Jourdan Romano-- or Celestine De Luca, finally appears. She heard noises and applause from the crowd. From the whole clan of Valdemar's tree. She remains that impassive look on her face, as the first thing she ever did right as she appears there, is to search for the man she has been waiting for all along this night.
Before she walks down the stairs, she needed to make sure she sees Valdemar, as if that depended her breathing, or life support.
And then she found him. Their gazes collided.
She took a step forward, finally breathing. Nabasa niya sa mukha ni Valdemar na gulantang ito sa kinatatayuan, kaya hindi niya mapigilang mapangisi sa isip. As she hear continuous applauses, she walked all the way down the stairs, ngunit bago pa man siya makaabot sa pinakababa ay nakita niya na doon sa paanan si Valdemar. Waiting for her.
That moment fitted a Disney villain's line, 'Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?' because the dashing Celestine De Luca as beautiful as primrose, with her sultry black fitted gown stole the show for the night.
Her skin is like soaked in sun that it seemed like reeking of gold, and her entirety flickered that evening brighter than the hugest chandelier in this hall. Valdemar could not take his eyes off her.
She pauses from walking as she stare down at him, reading his face. She needed to see what he feels so she would know what to do next; to either go to him, or take two steps back. The whole thing depended on that, dahil hindi niya alam, baka galit ito.
But Valdemar stretches his hand saka inabot ang sariling kamay sa babae. Jourdan was stunned for a moment.
'Take me.' he says in his mind. She looked at him again, and no matter how much she does, she saw it is what Valdemar wants to tell her. Kumabog ng malakas ang kanyang puso, habang dahan-dahang humakbang ng isang beses pababa ng hagdan.
Dalawang hakbang pa niya itong ginawa, at tuluyan na siyang nakababa, sa harapan ni Valdemar. He still offers his hand.
She took the steps closer to him as if nobody was ever watching-- and even thousands of people are looking at them both, they knew they could give lesser fuck than zero. She never had any family before, and eight years ago, when Novano came, their bond and partnership was the only family she has experienced. Kaya blangko ang kanyang utak ngayon, at hindi niya alam kung anong iisipin. She did not expect having a family this huge would be this overwhelming and very . . . warm.
After all, silence was always cold and she can never fake it as peace. Magkaiba 'yon. Mas nakakalungkot ang katahimikan kesa sa kapayapaan.
Ngayon natanto niyang siguro, noise is a necessity for people, to feel like they belong somewhere, that they are alive, and that there is warmth.
She slowly stretched her hand, and after a short hesitation, her palm lands on his. He is indeed warm, her heartbeat went fast like race. She wondered, can he read her face of anxiety? Her joy? Her fast beating heart?
Her hand slowly traced his skin up his wrist as she slides up to his arm, and she took a step closer. Her hand lands on his firm and broad shoulder, and then she rubs her palms into the fabric of his tux, and stopped on his chest.
Tinitigan niya si Valdemar matapos iyon. Naramdaman niya ang malalakas at mabilis na vibration ng tibok ng puso nito. It was insanely fast. She grins at him.
"I'm telling you now, I'd reach the ends of the world to end up with you." she mumbles at him smiling. The best smile Valdemar has seen from her. That smile stained his brain, as he could not get it off his memory now.
He smiled in return, as if breathing for the first time. Hindi siya makapaniwala sa nangyayari.
"Damn." he curses, staring with his wide eyes at her.
