That night I go out with Luke. We take a taxi heading to a popular night club in LA.
"Man, I'm so stoked!" Luke says holding a beer bottle covered with a paper bag in his hand.
"Maybe that's because you're drunk." I remind him. He already drank two bottles of beer, that's the third one.
We arrive at the club after a fifteen minutes drive. From afar I spot the long queue leading into the club.
"Uhhh. No dude." I go dissappointed.
"Come on Cal. It won't take us too long to wait." Luke calms me down pounding my shoulder with his big hands. Following him I try to get over this pessimistic adittude. Five minutes staying in the lane I take a look around. No one familiar catches my glance. Wait, Is that? No way? Denise stands only five feet away from me. The group of people in front of me sepperate me from her.
"Whassup man?" Luke asks bewildered.
I notice that I'm already standing on my tip toes peeking at her. Relocating my weight on my feet again. "Nothing." I lie with a serious mine.
"Alright," he answers giving me a wondering gaze. "If you say so."
Trying to resist the temptation to look at her I try to keep my face straight. Maybe I can catch her later in the club.
Loud music numbs my mind for second as I step through the door to the club. Luke leaves me just 2 minutes later to "check out the ladies and get some booze".
Wandering through the crowd I lookout for her. Which seems to be harder than expected.
After five minutes combing through the crowd I end up at the bar. Watching Luke "checking out girls" I sip on my beer, which's normally illegal but if you pay the bartender more they make exception "Only for you".
Casually sitting on a bar stool I feel a poke at my shoulder. I turn around. My smile grows by what's behind me. It's Denise. I embrace her tightly.
"Hey!" I shout because of the loud music that surrounds us.
"What a surprise to meet you here!" She shouts back all smiles.
"Funny right?" I admit still shouting.
"Let's head outside, so we can talk." She suggest yelling.
Immediately I grab her hand and walk her out the building.
"Hey." She hugs me again.
"Hey again!" I smile at her. Wow she looks good tonight.
"What about sitting down on the bench right there?" She propses pointing at the bench behind me.
"Sounds good."
Sitting down she smiles at me. "So how have you been since we talked last time?"
"I've been alright. Been missing," thinking about what I'm about to say I hesitate "uh forget about that."
Puzzled she glances at me "No, tell me about it." She says pushing my shoulder.
"Uh, ok," I rub my neck "I've been missing you lately."
Her mouth drops open a little while her eyes widen "But I'm just a fan, Calum."
"I know," I can't keep looking into her eyes "I, I'm just gonna say it because I don't know if I ever gonna see you again." I take a deep breath and raise my gaze, so I look deep into her eyes. "I never thought about any girl the way I've been thinking about you lately. Actually I never stopped thinking about you since we met the first time."
"Are you trying to tell me that you have a crush on me?" She asks more puzzled than before.
"Kind of," I go with my eyes being lost in hers. "I mean," I hesitate "Yes. Um No, I mean I'm really interested in you"
Irritated she slightly stretches her neck at me. "Are you sure that you not only want to get into my pants?"
"Well, normally that'd be my goal of the night, but," I run my finger over my lower lip. "no. That's not my goal right now. You're really interesting. You're different than other girls."
"Wait, Calum. I have to let that sink for a second," She gazes down to the bench. "As much as I'd love to be in a relationship with you, I don't even know you yet."
"I know," I smile. "Would you give me your number? Then we can talk over text messages and maybe phone calls."
"*laughs* Why not?! I mean, sure." She agrees with a grin on her lips.
"Cool. Yeah awesome," I excite. "maybe we could meet sometime soon."
"Of course," She goes with a growing smile. "Wow that's so unexpected."
"Sorry for throwing you off the guard, I didn't mean to." I apologize with a smile.
"I'm glad you did that," She laughs "No problem at all!"
We spend five more minutes on the bench, talking about whatever comes to mind. Then we head to the club again. Her friends already been waiting for her. Luke hasn't been waiting for me. He messaged me.
