So today is the day I'm going to meet her. We planned to go to a fun fare, but to get there we have to go on a tiny roadtrip.
Last night I couldn't fall a sleep due to excitement plus a fair amount of nervousness. Of course I've been to such dates before, but that was years ago.
For 20 minutes I just walk up and down the hotel room. Waiting to finally leave the house drives me crazy.
At 11am I leave the house, still way too early but I thought better too early than too early. My phone in my hand I text her.

I'm on my way :) Gonna wait at the parking lot at Target.
See ya, Calum :)
Sending it I wonder if I put too many smiley faces in the messag. Wow, I never wondered about things like that. She's seen it, now she definetely thinks I'm weird. Dammit.
Only two minutes later I feel the vibration of my phone on my leg. Agitated I pull it out of my pocket.

You're on your way already? Fuck, I'm gonna be there in 15 minutes :)
till then, Denise:)
Ok now I'm only 200 feet away from Target. I'm going to have to wait there. It's a shame that she has to pick me up anyways.
5 minutes standing at the parking lot my heart becomes all heavy and I can't keep myself from taking a look at the time every 30 seconds. My hands get sweaty and my fingers start freezing. What the heck? I'm in LA it's freaking hot here.
I don't even know what car she's driving, which means I can't even look out for her. "Maybe it's the sun that drives me crazy" I assume making my way to the canopy in front of Target.
Every car that drives up the gateway gives me a short heart attack. Even the vibration of my phone frightens me.

Sorry I'm gonna be late. Traffic in LA is crazy rn. Gonna be there in 5 minutes:)
See u, Denise:)
Just in the moment as my legs start to turn into jelly a car drives my way. Coming closer I recognize her in the car. Her hair beams golden in the sunlight. She put it in a messy bun. Some streaks hang loose from the sides of her face. Her smile grows as she spots me awkwardly putting my hands into both of my pockets.I walk over to the passenger side, open the door and weirdly loom at her.
"Hey! Jump in." She invites me as if I wouldn't be looking at her like a creep.
Snorting within a laugh she starts the engine. In the next second she turns it down again.
"Although I think it's ridiculously cute when you snort, what's so funny?" I ask with a smirk laying on my lips.
"You think that's cute," She wonders astonished. "Nothing. Just the fact that I'm, I mean we sit in a car together. That seems fricking surreal to me."
We share a long moment looking at each other. Not smiling, just looking deep into each others eyes. Is that a kiss moment? No that's too early, wait is it too early? Does she lean in to me, probably not, wait is she.
Her eyes leave mine. Her face is blushy now. With a cough I turn to the front. I laugh to get out of this awkward moment of silence.
Now she starts the engine and we leave the parking lot.
"How have you been since the last time we meet?" I ask.
"Six days not seeing you was awesome," She laughs. "No jokes. You know a lot of school stuff, a lot of school too." She says with a serious note in her voice.
"Ugh. School stuff." I mutter joyless.
"Yeah right? I have to get through it, I guess." She goes casually.
"Let's not talk about school anymore, it reminds me of my time in school." I grin because she knows exactly what I'm talking about.
"Same. *laughs*"
"I have an idea! What if we just go down to the pier? Fun fares aren't really made for talking, I believe."
"Hm sounds good. I don't like driving anyways." She admits with a smile.
"I'd love to drive us to the pier!" I excite.
She makes a stop at a gas station and we exchange positions. "Alrightay, Off to the pier we go." I talk like a a mid-age bus driver.
She replies with a big smile and a small giggle.
Later at the she takes my hand as we look out for dolphins and she spots on in the distance. First I don't know how to react on this gesture but a few milliseconds later I put my fingers protectively and gently around her hand. She doesn't wince so I keep my hand as it is.
"Awh look," her voice jumps as she spots another dolphin. "Another one."
Smiling I stroke my thumb over the soft back of her hand. "That's perfectly wonderful."
"What? The dolphins, I know they're awesome." She goes amazed.
"I mean this." I mutter holding her hand tighter.
Facing me she leans her behind to the rail. Big eyes she glances at me. "What?" She asks touched.
"I enjoy this." I mumble gazing atbour hands being entangled in each other.
Now she flushes and puts her fingertips on my chin, in order to raise my gaze she pushes my chin up a little. "I enjoy this too." She proclaims bfore leaning in to leave kiss my cheek.
My life feels complete for a moment. I'm probably smiling like an idiot right now but that's alright with me.
"Wow I still can't believe it. I'm really here with you. That's cra-"
"Crazy right?" I go with my mind still in the clouds.
