Sunwoo trudged out of his room sleepily and gulped a full bottle of water in the kitchen. He was still hungover from last night. He and Eric had unintentionally started a drinking competition. He can't believe they got home last night.
He heard beeps from the door outside. He peeked out from the kitchen to see Eric walking in with a plastic bag.
"Where'd you come back from? Ooh~~ tofu!" Sunwoo snatched it away from Eric.
Eric snatched it back and put it on the sink along with some other ingredients. He gave the milk carton to Sunwoo who put it away in the fridge. Sunwoo leaned against it as he stared at Eric who was getting the few ingredients out.
"Don't tell me you're cooking hangover stew." Sunwoo said, crossing his arms.
"Yes, I am." Eric said, organizing the food.
Sunwoo's eyes widened. He walked up to Eric and put his palm to Eric's forehead. He frowned.
"You aren't sick." He remarked.
Eric huffed at that and swatted his hands away. He continued preparing the tofu and beansprouts. He was trying to cut the tofu in half horizontally.
Sunwoo watched as his anxiety doubled when Eric slipped his knife down. It just tripled when he started chopping the chilies sloppily.
"Ok. Stop. Just order it from the place around the corner."
"But I already bought all of these." Eric whined.
"Will you buy another set of fingers if you chop off yours?" Sunwoo snapped.
Eric ignored him and continued mincing the garlic and ginger. He tried some trick he saw on fancy cooking videos and ended up shaking the chopping board so much it slipped down the floor....... along with the knife.
Sunwoo and Eric froze.
The board fell on Sunwoo's feet and bumped away. The knife, however, with extreme precision, fell between Sunwoo's fourth and pinky toes.
Eric slowly looked up at Sunwoo and grinned at him innocently. Sunwoo was still staring at the knife, letting out a silent gasp. Eric let out a small laugh.
"Hehe. It's a miracle!"
He flinched when Sunwoo whipped up his head at him. Right now, Sunwoo was looking pretty murderous. Eric backed up out of instinct.
"Su-sunwoo, you know we still have two unfinished murder cases left. Don't commit another."
"They won't know it's a murder if they don't find the body."
"Sunwoo- YAHHHHHHHHH!"
Juyeon drove to the shop address Chanhee had texted him last night. He already informed Sunwoo that he would come in late so they could check in the morgue first.
He wasn't going to question why he heard Eric screeching in the background.
Juyeon pulled up outside a building. He peeked at the quaint little store at the ground floor. The street was relatively quiet, might be too early. He took his tablet where he copied the notes Sunwoo gave him.
He walked up to the shop, noticing the sign still said 'close'. He peeked through the glass block windows. He did see the light on.
He got startled when the door swung open. Kevin smiled at him brightly and Juyeon returned back an awkward one.
"Good morning. Come on in." Kevin said, gesturing inside.
Juyeon thanked him and walked inside. His eyes scanned the shop out of habit. He noted the dolls hung on the wall, painted prettily.
