Nineteen

The next day, Sunwoo talked to Juyeon about what he thought. Eric was watching from his desk, clutching onto his report on Yunho's files.

Sunwoo had a determined look as Juyeon raised a brow at him. He checked the report on Jacob and Kevin then looked back at Sunwoo. 

"I mean, if New is the main link in all these cases, I think we should check up on him as well." Sunwoo explained.

"I know but..." Juyeon trailed off. 

"But?" Sunwoo asked, not understanding Juyeon's hesitance.

Eric stood up and slid his report to Juyeon at that moment. 

"I finished going through all of Yunho's files. Nothing suspicious. He did tail Cheon Seojin and Joo Dantae for quite a while. And yes, the two have a lot more affairs behind."

Juyeon scanned through the report. He put it back down and sighed. 

"Captain." Sunwoo called to get his attention.

"Wait. Chanhee said he had something to check. After he tells me, we'll think about whether we need to do it or not." Juyeon said.

Sunwoo frowned but nodded anyway. Eric sensed Sunwoo was frustrated.

"Hey, Sunwoo. Let's go get something. We haven't had breakfast yet." He said, dragging Sunwoo away.

Sunwoo reluctantly followed. Juyeon plopped down his seat again and went through Sunwoo's report.

Jacob and Kevin were high school friends who separated after they returned to Korea. 

Jacob had always been popular at school, it seems. He was captain of the basketball team in both high school and college. He had been in a music club, writer's club and debate club. Though in college, he only continued the writer's club. Maybe that's why he became an editor. 

After high school, Kevin had initially enrolled for a medical college. That was weird considering that Kevin's activities in high school were all art-related. He was in an art club and photography club. But after Kevin's parents passed away, he immediately dropped out of medical college and enrolled at a small art college in Canada. After that he came back to Korea again. 

Juyeon guessed the only reason Kevin started medical college was because of his parents. He understood stuff like that very well.

He tossed Sunwoo's report aside and went through Eric's report this time.

Yunho certainly had dirt on almost everyone. Just as Juyeon was reading, his phone rang. He glanced at the contact name. 

"Unwanted Present" 

"Hello." Juyeon greeted lazily.

"Be a less enthusiastic, will ya?" Hyunjae replied sarcastically.

"If you're not going to answer my questions, then I suggest we don't talk."

"Why so serious? Anyways, I called to say that I'll cooperate." 

"You will?"

"Yes. On one condition."

"This better not be some nonsense." Juyeon sighed.

"No, it isn't. It's simple actually. Don't tell Jacob and Chanhee about me."

"....What? You're kidding me."
