Hades walks into the castle and begins to call out to Persephone to announce he was home from patrol before someoen walks by so quickly they nearly plow into him. He looks behind him confused then forward, his eyes widen in surprise. The place was full and busy with people decorating. After stating at it all for several minutes he goes upstairs to find Persephone.

"Persephone?" He asks as he peaks into a couple rooms before stepping into their room where he found her in a mess of papers, notebooks, and decorations.

She quickly looks up at him "Oh you're back, I thought you'd be gone longer. I'm getting everything set up for the wedding. It's all going fine except my decorations aren't working well in the darkness of the castle..." she says frowning a little at the decorations in front of her.

"Uh huh .... I'm sorry..." he says as he steps into the closet to change into a clean tunic. He had gotten yelled at a few times for not showing enough interest until he had explained most of the things she was planning didn't make sense to him or he wasn't sure how to respond exactly.

He had given a few suggestions but now he could see why they wouldn't work out or look as nice as the things she had planned, though he was sad to see how in distress his fiancée was so he decided to give a suggestion "Well, darling .... what if we held the wedding on earth? Perhaps at sundown so it's not blindingly bright but we could find a nice little valley where your beautiful decorations would look nicer then here in the darkness" he held his breath a little, unsure of how she would react to this idea.

She falls silent, staring at the wall while thinking "I suppose that would work ...." she says softly while thinking it over before looking back at her papers. "That would make things slightly easier too... but you'd have to go first so you won't see my dress" she says beginning to like the idea very much. "Oh! I should let everyone know so they can stop decorating" she says before running downstairs.

He smiles as he watches her. After having her leave every spring he learned that savoring everything. How she would only sleep next to his side, regardless of how much she was on his side or if he was running out of room. How she was excited for everyday even if all they did was sleep around. How she looked when she half ran, she looked as if she was skipping a little or dancing. He sighs and sits on the bed which had been left unmade today though it was usually made up nicely. It was difficult not to thing of her leaving and since it would be way too soon, it always was. They didn't keep a calendar around because it seemed to upset them both.

He knew being the God of the Underworld would bring such a curse no one could ever accept him as a good guy but to have his Queen stolen from him for half a year, every year. That was the worst curse one could cast. Half the year he was living and moving without an actual purpose. He was on autopilot half the year. He was greatful to hear through others that Persephone loved spring and summer so much she never seemed utterly heartbroken to leave him. He didn't want her to be miserable as he was.

Suddenly the young spring goddess hurried back into the room and smiles at him. That made everything better for him, no more worries or sadness. He smiles back. She climbs into his lap and hugs him close. He hugs her back and kisses her head before laying back and holding her "Hello, my darling" he says softly to her as he holds her tightly.

He could feel her warm face nuzzles into his chest. She felt so warm and perfectly sized to fit in his arm and against his chest. "Hi..." she whispers back lifting her head enough to see him. He smiles at her. She happily smiles back.

Persephone slowly sits up and rubs the sleep from her eyes. There was barely any light coming from the window and no noise from the rest of the castle. She gazes down at the big snoring God below her, they must have fallen asleep. She watches him in administration for a few moments before an idea dawns on her.

"Hades .... hades ....!" She whispers loudly as she gently nudges him before getting off the bed and going to the closet in a hurry. She grabs the bag that contains her wedding dress then goes back and shakes him a little "Wake up"

He slowly sits up this time "What?" He asks a little confused before noticing she was gathering things, and that it was growing close to dark "Is something wrong?" His face falls and a wave of horror crashes over him "Youre not going back ... right?" He asks meekly hoping it's not true.

She looks at him surprised "No no!! Of course not. I'm staying. I definitely am" she smiles "Let's get married" she says excitedly as she grabs her shoes. He stares at her baffled "Persephone.... what are you talking about?" He asks.

She stops and smiles at him, her whole face glowing and a large smile covered her face "Let's get married, Hades ... now. The suns going down and we can be on earth in time for a short service. It'll be just us, let's go, let's go now"

He stares at her, stunned by her words "You're sure about this?" He asks softly. Without a moment of thought she nods "Absolutely"

He waits a moment then smiles "Then let's go. Let's get married" he says jumping out of bed and hurrying into the tunic she had picked for him.

She smiles and hurries into her dress and shoes before pulling her hair from the bun it was in. He hastily takes her hand and leads the way to the boat. He helps her in before stepping in himself. Off they floated as a happy engaged couple. The next time they floated this river they would no longer be Hades and Persephone but Hades, God and king of the underworld with Persephone, the Goddess of spring and queen of underworld. And Hades heart which he would frequently point out.
