Hades and Persephone

Hades pushes the crying nymph out the door while trying to make her stop clinging to him

"Hades! Please!" She sobs "I love you so much, what happened to how you loved me?"

He roughly grabs her arm and makes her look at him "I never loved you, Amadrya. You tricked me into it. You're lucky I don't cut your head off for that"

Amadrya becomes a little pale before huffing and brushing herself off "Hmph ... well she'll never love you like I did" she says before smartly disappearing before hades tries to grab her

He growls and turns, he slams the large doors behind himself as he marches back into his castle

For the 3 months Persephone had been absent in his life he'd never felt so dead inside. Even with Amadrya he never quite felt alive. Or even happy for that matter. To be quite honest, he felt nothing

He walks upstairs and walks down the hall before freezing. Right in front of Persephones room. Well, at least that's what he called it. He sighs and slowly pushes open the door for the first time since she had left. The room was filled with a brightly white light from the walls

He'd never felt a heartache before, but the pain in his chest certainly felt pretty similar to what it might be

He slowly walks in. Everything looked as if it had been frozen in time. Nothing had moved a inch since she had left. Amadrya had wanted to paint it black again and turn it into a nursery. That was the last bit of Persephone he had left and he had no intentions of changing a single thing. Not even the blankets that were falling off the bed

He sits down in a chair and sighs softly as he looks around. He was always curious as to what she might have done with the room if she had the time

He begins to drift off to sleep. A finally relaxed one

Several hours later he sits up, forgetting he had begun to drift off. He sighs and rubs his forehead before pushing the blanket off himself. Wait. He looks at the blanket in confusion and frowns. When the hell did he put a blanket over himself? He runs his fingers through his hair, genuinely completely baffled

He shakes his head trying to forget it as he walks out of the room and gently closes the door. He sighs before walking back down the stairs

"Oh dear ... you look sleepy" a bubble chipper voice says in a very soft way. He quickly looks towards his throne where the voice was coming from. A beautiful smiling red head was sitting there, giggling at him

He stares at her for a few moments "Persephone ..." he chokes out. But it couldn't be. He was dreaming, or Hallucinating

She smiles and sheepishly stands up "Yeah ... can't keep me away. I didn't want to wake you up so I just gave you a blanket"

He walks to her, still shocked though the blanket mystery was solved. He softly places a hand on her hip as if he was trying to see if she was actually there

She smiles and sets a hand on his arm before quickly wrapping her arms around his waist and hugging him tightly

He hugs her back as tears filled his eyes. He closes his eyes and places his head on hers "Oh Persephone..." he whispers softly as a few tears fall from his usually stone cold eyes. There was so much he wanted to say, how he loved her. How sorry he was. He much he missed her but he couldn't seem to find a thing to say

She smiles as she nuzzles her cheek against his warm chest "I missed you so much hades" she says softly before peeking up at him. She frowns a little at his tears. She steps back a little and softly cups his cheek in her small delicate hand

He looks away a little, he'd never before cries in front of another person "Why did you come?" He asks though it sounded harsh the small rub of his thumb against her hip comforted her

She smiles a little "I got cursed. I was given a pomegranate with each seed sentencing me to stay here with you. I ate 6, each year I'll be here for 6 months. I wanted to eat 12, but the earth would perish without me" she says

He looks at her a little shocked before looking over her face, studying the small beautiful features "So you can stay ... please stay with me Persephone. I love you so much and I want to have you by my side as much as possible"

She blushes a little at him loving words and smiles, she raises herself on to her tip toes and softly kisses his cheek "Yes. Yes, a million times yes" she giggles softly

He smiles and his stiff shoulders relaxes a little at the beautiful sound while his lips finally formed a true smile with only happiness behind it, it could be seen in his eyes "Thank you" he says before hugging her tightly

She smiles and softly cups his cheek before reaching herself up on to her tip toes. She softly kisses his lips

For a moment he stares at her shocked before closing his eyes and gently kissing her back

As an oddly light ray of light shines through the window he peeks his eyes open at the small sleeping goddess beside him. He smiles and softly strokes her slightly frizzy hair that was catching the sunlight perfectly. She makes a soft noise that almost sounded like a yawn as she rolls towards him. The light shines on her face making her squint her eyes shut tightly. He softly strokes her cheek making her smile and look at him. He smiles at her "Good morning my love" he places a small kiss on her temple making her giggle. She yawns as she stretches herself a little which causes the sheets to shift a little showing her creamy body and slim curves

He softly places a hand on her hip and pulls her to his warm bare chest. She smiles and moves close to him "Aren't you supposed to be ruling a world?" She asks teasingly

"I'm supposed to be watching over dead people, my world is right here..." he says sweetly as he kisses the side of her head

I haven't decided what to do with this story yet
They will have a life together with kids and all that
But it might be in a different book since this was only supposed to be a short story
